The Senior Impact Evaluation Specialist will play a critical role in measuring and evaluating the success of Pele Energy Group’s energy and development initiatives. This role is responsible for designing robust research methodologies, analysing data, generating actionable insights, and producing high-quality reports to guide strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will be an analytical thinker with expertise in research design, data analytics, impact assessment, and strategy formulation.

Job Responsibilities

Impact Evaluation Design and Implementation

  • Develop and implement comprehensive impact evaluation frameworks for both energy and development workstreams.
  • Design rigorous research methodologies, including quantitative and qualitative approaches, to assess the social, economic, and environmental impact of projects.
  • Ensure evaluations align with industry best practices, national development priorities, and global standards such as the UN SDGs.

Data Analytics and Insights

  • Lead data collection, management, and analysis processes to assess project outcomes and performance.
  • Apply advanced data analytics techniques to derive actionable insights and measure progress against predefined metrics.
  • Build predictive models and dashboards to monitor real-time impact and outcomes.

Reporting and Communication

  • Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and publications that communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Translate complex data into clear, concise, and actionable insights for diverse audiences, including funders, government bodies, and community leaders.
  • Contribute to thought leadership by generating insights that shape Pele Energy Group’s strategic direction.

Strategy and Decision Support

  • Provide evidence-based recommendations to inform project design, resource allocation, and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure impact findings are integrated into decision-making processes.
  • Support the development of innovative strategies to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of projects.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage with key stakeholders, including funders, NGOs, government agencies, and community organisations, to ensure alignment on impact goals and reporting requirements.
  • Represent Pele Energy Group at industry conferences, workshops, and forums, showcasing the organisation’s impact and best practices.

Capacity Building

  • Mentor and support internal teams in understanding and applying impact evaluation methodologies.
  • Build the capacity of staff to use data-driven approaches in project planning and implementation.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, or a related field. A PhD is advantageous.
  • 8+ years of experience in impact evaluation, research design, data analytics, or related roles.
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing evaluation frameworks for complex projects, preferably in the energy or development sectors.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SPSS, or STATA) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI or Tableau).
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality reports and publications.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, funders, and community organisations.
  • Knowledge of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) frameworks and SDG-aligned impact measurement is an advantage. Competencies.
