NN is committed to sustainable value creation for all stakeholders.As a Data Governance Consultant at the NN Group Virtual Data Standards Team, you will play a key role in initiating the group data governance structure, which aims to harmonize and standardize data across all NN data domains. This is to enhance collaboration across NN domains and provide a boost to data democratization efforts. Based in The Hague, you will work in a virtual team with experts from different business units and functions, and support the Manager Data Office in setting and enforcing data policies, guidelines and standards. You will also be involved in gathering requirements for data standardization, organizing workshops to develop standards, and monitoring and reporting on data quality and compliance. By doing so, you will help NN leverage its data as a strategic asset and enable data-driven decision making.
What you are going to do
You will be responsible for defining and documenting the data governance framework, initiating meta data standards, and data quality standards for the group. You will also collaborate with data owners, data stewards, data architects and data users across the organization (including the foreign business units) to understand their data needs and challenges, and to align them with the group data governance vision and objectives. As a Data governance consultant, you will also:
- Sets Data Governance policies, guidelines and standards, driving harmonization and standardization at group level
- Organize and facilitate NN Group Data Governance meetings
- Definition of standards for among others meta data, data quality, data dictionary and glossary overarching business terms, and data lineage
- Standardization and provision of NN reference and master data
- Central monitoring and reporting on follow-up of Local Data Offices to the standards
- Setting standards for data governance platform
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to develop and communicate data standards and best practices

Who you are
You are a data enthusiast, who is passionate about data governance and data management. You have a strong analytical and conceptual mind, and you can translate complex data issues into clear and actionable solutions or actions. You are a proactive and collaborative team player, who can communicate effectively with various stakeholders and influence them positively. You are also flexible and adaptable, and you can cope with changing priorities and deadlines. Furthermore, you have:
- A relevant academic degree, with a focus on Data Science, Data Management, Business Analytics, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in data governance, data quality, data management, or data analysis in a large and complex organization
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks, methodologies, and best practices, such as DAMA-DMBOK
- Experience with data governance tools and platforms, such as Collibra
- Familiarity with data domains and data standards in the insurance and/or financial industry
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and verbal

You will be joining the Virtual Data Standards team, which is part of the Customer & Product Data Office. The Customer & Product Data Office consists of data experts (7 fte) , who work together to define and implement the group data governance framework and standards. The team is led by Manager Data Office, who reports to Chief Analytics Officer. The atmosphere in the team is open, flexible, and internationally diverse.
