The Data Scientist (DS) participates in all stages of inferential and predictive analytics for various projects influencing healthcare operations. This position is not responsible for providing care to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide statistical consulting to other analysts as needed.
  • Works with end-users (healthcare providers, business users etc.) to define and understand project needs and nuance
  • Develops analysis plans to adequately address those needs
  • Procures and validates relevant data
  • Develops inferential and/or predictive models as required
  • Thoroughly documents code and analytical rationale
  • Clearly communicates results as well as strengths and weaknesses of selected analytical approaches as needed to non-technical end users
  • Prepares standardized data extract and transformation processes for use of developed models in production

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Strong database programming skills (e.g. SQL)
  • Strong programming skills in R (preferred) or python
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis of both structured and unstructured data
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects

Required

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math or related field or equivalency.
  • Two years of experience with data preparation/modeling using SQL and R/Python.
