Data Analyst Lead

The Data Analyst Lead provides analytical and organizational support to the business unit operations/management. They have advanced data processing and report development skills, knowledgeable in scripting languages, including Python and SQL, and proficient predictive modeling abilities. Capable of creating, developing, testing, and deploying highly adaptive tools and reports used to support business. Responsible for conducting data analysis, identifying trends, and creating visualizations and dashboards. The Data Analyst Lead will be expected to understand how the specific task fits into the bigger picture and suggest how to best accomplish within the project framework. The Lead Analyst will manage other members of the team, team level tasks, projects, and ensure completion to meet set timelines.

Please Note:  This position is 100% remote; however, you must reside within 50 miles from our Costa Mesa, CA, Coppell, TX, Portland, ME, or St. Louis, MO offices. You will be asked to come into the office for specific training courses and for bi-annual team meetings to meet senior leaders and other members of the organization.

What You Will Do

  • You’ll organize projects clearly and coordinate team resources to complete initiatives by set timelines. Lead team level projects and mentor new analysts.
  • You’ll investigate, develop, and implement new methods, procedures, and technologies to promote automated processes and efficiencies within the Claims department.
  • You’ll develop SQL scripts and long-term reporting using a variety of data analysis tools / languages (SQL, Teradata, Python, Tableau, Excel). Develop predictive models, identify / analyze trends, root cause analysis and providing solutions. Assist less experienced analysts.
  • You will support, and design/build reports that measures performance of KPIs such as Service Quality, Productivity, Frequency, and Severity. Develop internal reports on expenses, incentive programs, initiatives, and performance goals and results.
  • You’ll collaborate with other Business Units such as Underwriting and Product Management to accomplish common goals and objectives.
  • You will be meeting with Claims Management concerning complex production reporting and enhancements. Provides detail regarding challenges and offer solutions and recommendations.


What You Will Need

  • Bachelors’ Equivalent combination of education and experience Required
  • 5+ years’ experience in the following:  Data analytics, manipulating data with SQL, Python, Tableau, or related technologies. Required
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills required (incl. VBA, macros, complex calculations, etc.).
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and presentation skills.
  • Analytical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to rapidly learn new processes, databases, applications.
  • Innovative mindset with demonstrated creativity or innovation in some past work experience preferred.
  • Certifications: Tableau and/or Python preferred not required.

The starting pay range for this position is:

$106,900.00 - $142,200.00

Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
