Job Description

*This position is a hybrid full-time role that requires in office on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1200 Binz St Suite 1490 Houston TX 77004. Mon, Wed, and Fri are typically work from home but subject to change for internal meetings, trainings, and conferences.*

We are seeking a Population Health Data Specialist to help us continue to scale and optimize our population health & operational capabilities. In this role, you will serve as a high-impact member of Privia’s Gulf Coast market team, working to deliver data-driven insights to key stakeholders in the market. 

Primary Job Duties:  

  • Work closely with Population Health Leadership, Quality, and Risk Adjustment teams to understand their evolving information needs, and plan and execute on analytic strategies and solutions that are in alignment with those needs.  

  • Attend Privia’s National Analytics team meetings and will work closely with that team to continually improve reporting and analytics needs 

  • Create and maintain reporting capabilities within the market, leveraging Privia’s national Analytics resources, to assist in the creation of presentations within the market for providers and other key stakeholders.  

  • Assist with funds flow/distribution calculations in collaboration with the national analytics, finance, and population health leadership.

  • Assist in the development of key performance indicators (KPIs), and develop a corresponding suite of reports and dashboards that help functional heads understand and impact performance over time 

  • Extract and manipulate data from Athena EMR, translate data into actionable insights and compelling narratives, and convey key findings to market leadership 

  •  Integrate data from a variety of platforms (payer,  internal, other) to identify trends on key measures, summarize findings for market leadership

  • Monitor key automatic data feeds to ensure those feeds are working as designed, design strategies to address any identified issues, and communicate those plans with market leadership

  • Ability to create and present meaningful management presentations

  • Data Governance and monitoring the integrity of data

  • Work with Privia’s Product Team to create additional data feeds as new needs arise 

  • Produce reports for quality care gap closure and review the results to ensure proper credit has been  received for those efforts 

  • Administrative coordination of population health initiatives. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Finance, Epidemiology, Public Health, Business Administration, or related field preferred

  • At least 3 years of experience in consulting, analytics, finance, or healthcare operations fields with emphasis on leveraging data to drive operations and insights

  • Keen interest in data, software, and leveraging data to steer insight and tactics

  • Advanced experience with Excel required

  • Experience in PowerPoint and Google Suite preferred

  • Proficiency or willingness to learn SQL

  • Experience using/leveraging business intelligence platforms (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Looker, etc.) preferred

  • Understanding of data visualization best practices  

  • Experience with (or a desire to learn) quality measures such as HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness  Data and Information Set), Medicare Advantage Stars measures, and measures included in the  MIPS (Merit-Based Incentive Payment System), Risk Adjustment

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills 

  • Ability to interact with employees and external stakeholders in a professional manner 

  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness 

  • Ability to convey technical topics to non-technical audiences 

  • Ability to prioritize multiple work streams 

  • Ability to work independently 

  • Must comply with HIPAA rules and regulations  

The salary range for this role is $60,000-$75,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus targeted at 10%. The base pay offered will be determined based on relevant factors such as experience, education, and geographic location.
