Summary:

Anaconda is seeking a Manager, Business Development, who will be responsible for driving sustainable growth and expanding our client base within the data science and machine learning ecosystem. Your team will develop and execute go-to-market strategies to generate leads, build relationships, and close deals under your leadership. Your primary focus will be on helping your team of direct reports with identifying potential clients, converting marketing qualified leads, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful revenue generation.


What You'll Do:

  • Develop and implement effective business development inbound, outbound, and conversion strategies to achieve revenue targets and grow market share.
  • Identify and research new markets, industries, or opportunities for expansion to increase brand visibility and credibility.
  • Create industry best practices for converting Marketing Qualified Leads into Qualified first meetings.
  • Track BDR daily and monthly activity to improve their process and build their skill sets.
  • In partnership with Marketing, you will create and execute targeted marketing campaigns across various channels, including email, social media, content marketing, events, and webinars, to generate high-quality leads.
  • Collaborate closely with product management to understand customer needs and feedback, which informs product roadmap development and ensures alignment with market demands.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry thought leaders, to drive referrals and positive word-of-mouth advertising.
  • Work closely with sales teams to ensure smooth handoffs of qualified leads and provide support during the sales process as needed.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Continuously stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor movements, and best practices in data science and machine learning to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Manage and optimize the entire lead generation and qualification process, from initial contact to close, to maximize efficiency and conversion rates.
  • Develop and manage budgets, resources, and timelines for business development initiatives to ensure successful project delivery within established deadlines.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Development, Marketing, Sales, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing roles, preferably in the data science and machine learning space.
  • Experience in managing a team of direct reports in business development. 
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful go-to-market strategies that drive revenue growth.
  • Experience in formulating and implementing an inbound/outbound communications strategy including: call scripts; email content; messaging cadence and other communication strategies.
  • Strong understanding of Python programming language and its applications in data science and machine learning.
  • Executive presence in front of a room and over web conference; credible in front of SDR/BDR Team, Account Executives, Field Sales teams, executive audiences and prospects.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity efficiently managing CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, and other relevant tools to streamline processes and improve productivity.
    • Experience in using Salesforce, Outreach, Sales Navigator, Clari, and ZoomInfo.
  • Data-driven decision-making approach with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and customer success.
  • A passion for staying up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies in data science and machine learning.

The US total On-Target Earnings (OTE) salary range for this role is $200,000-$210,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed in each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations.


Within the range, individual compensation is determined by various factors, including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter will provide more specific details on the salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
