The Role

At FURTHER, we build robust, reliable software for our customers, and rely heavily on automation to help our teams move fast in a stable way. As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining automated tests to ensure the quality and reliability of our products. You will collaborate closely with software developers, product managers, and other QA team members to design and execute comprehensive testing strategies.

What You’ll Own
  • Leadership and Strategy: Lead the development of test automation strategies using Playwright for JavaScript and Python, creating and maintaining robust frameworks, and driving continuous improvement in processes and tools.

  • Test Development and Execution: Design, develop, and execute end-to-end automated tests using Playwright, ensuring comprehensive coverage across browsers, platforms, and APIs.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively address testing needs, provide technical guidance on UI testing best practices, and promote effective communication.

  • CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with the DevOps team, ensuring consistent execution in various environments and monitoring system health.

  • Test Environment Management: Set up and manage test environments, troubleshoot issues, track defects in JIRA, and perform root cause analysis to enhance the QA process.

  • Quality Assurance Metrics: Define and track key QA performance indicators, maintain up-to-date documentation, and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions to support a culture of continuous learning.

  • Mentorship: Mentor team members on automated testing best practices and the effective use of Playwright to ensure high-quality and maintainable test suites across the organization.

What You’ll Bring
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.

  • Professional Experience: 5+ years of experience as a QA Automation Engineer in designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks.

  • Python and Selenium Testing Proficiency: Proficient in developing Python scripts for Selenium testing to perform UI and API testing across different browsers and platforms.

  • Automation Tools and CI/CD Platforms: Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools such as Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, and Appium. Familiarity with CI/CD platforms like Jenkins and Git to integrate and execute automated tests within the development pipeline.

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Capabilities: Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex test failures and automation issues.

  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing technical guidance on QA best practices and effectively conveying test results to stakeholders.

Compensation Band

Our openings span more than one career level. The target salary range for this role is around $105,000 to $130,000. The provided salary depends on many factors, such as work experience and transferable skills, business needs and impact, and market demands.
