Senior Business Intelligence Engineer (m/f/x)

The developer-first platform grants access to the world’s leading providers of optical, radar, elevation, and aerial data, all in one place, and offers flexible APIs and a Python SDK to help build and scale solutions. Users can search the catalog for existing imagery, or task a satellite to capture a desired area. Whatever the use case, UP42 is the one-stop-shop for all geospatial data needs. Late 2024, UP42 is being acquired by the Neo Space Group.

We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer (m/f/x) to join our motivated team in Berlin. As part of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in providing valuable insights into our company's performance. Your expertise will empower stakeholders across the organization to make data-driven decisions that are market-benchmarked and focused on performance improvement. 

What you will do:

• Develop efficient and robust data warehouse models through close collaboration with business users and the engineering team.

• Design and build reliable ETL data pipelines.

• Evaluate and recommend improvements for existing BI tracking processes.

• Partner with senior management, operational leads, and other stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making, including KPI definition, reporting frameworks, and more.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, product, sales, and other business units, to deliver BI solutions that align with business needs.

• Maintain data accuracy, consistency, and integrity by implementing rigorous data quality checks and validation processes.

Requirements

Here is a good summary of what we are looking for:

• You have proven experience in SQL and Python for data analytics.

• You have extensive experience with managing cloud data warehouses, as well as building and maintaining ETL/ELT processes (i.e: DataFlow, Airflow,dbt, Stitch, Segment).

• Experience in designing scalable, high-performance data architectures, including event-driven architectures vs. traditional database replication.

• Familiarity with data protection and compliance regulations.

• Familiarity with reporting tools (any of Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex business processes and data requirements.

• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple analytics tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Fluency in English is a must.

Bonus points if you bring: 

• Experience in LookML data modeling

• Experience with user event tracking tools such as Mixpanel, GA+GTM is a plus
