Software Engineer II, Azure AI Analytics

The Azure AI Platform (AIP) provides organizations across the world with the tooling and infrastructure needed to build and host AI workloads. The AI Platform organization is scaling rapidly, and we are establishing a world-class data analytics platform to support data-driven decision making through the organization. 

We are looking to hire a Software Engineer to join the newly formed AI Platform Analytics team. This individual will be responsible for collaborating with teams across AI Platform to process, aggregate and analyze data across a wide range of Azure applications and services with the emphasis on developing orchestration pipelines for analytics using various open-source and company-internal data processing frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Build data extraction, manipulation, processing, and visualization tools and share these tools and your knowledge across the team, CoreAI, and Microsoft. 
• Develop and maintain ETL pipelines that aggregate information about various aspects of Azure operations
• Handle large amounts of data using various tools, including your own. 
• Ensure high-quality, reliable data, and platform compliance and security
• Drive end-to-end projects by utilizing, applying, and analyzing data to associated business problems
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts and PMs on future analytics needs and insights generation from data
• Contribute to data-driven culture by collaborating with product and engineering teams across Azure to establish and share best practices

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering , or related field AND 2+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in business analytics, data science, software development, or data engineering
  • OR equivalent experience.

• 2+ years' experience with development using at least one of the following languages: SQL, Python, C++, C# or Java. 
• 2+ year(s) experience developing and deploying live production systems, as part of a product team.
• 2+ year(s) experience developing and deploying products or systems at multiple points in the product cycle from ideation to shipping

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science , Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering , or related field AND 5+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering , or related field AND 3+ years of business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work experience                                                                                                    o OR equivalent experience.
• Machine Learning skills and 1+ year(s) experience in data mining
• Familiarity with SQL/Cosmos, Kusto, Power BI, and other data tools and technologies
• Knowledge of big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark
• 1+ year experience with ML toolkits such as Scikit-learn and SciPy.

Data Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
