Internship - QA Engineering

Purpose

The Data Science Unit (DSU) of IDEMIA PUBLIC SECURITY is responsible for collecting and analyzing data (images, logs, traces, etc.) to gain an in-depth understanding of how products and solutions deployed with external clients are used, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of internal technologies to improve them.

The unit works across various application domains, including biometrics (face, fingerprints, iris) and identity documents (passports, ID cards, etc.).

Measuring and analyzing the performance of biometric/documentary algorithms and anomaly detection algorithms requires the creation of representative, diverse, and large-scale datasets.

This internship aims to contribute to the implementation and development of automated data fabrication processes through robotic manipulation.

 The mission involves conducting software testing and development activities (Python and HTML) for a lightweight robotic arm such as the Dobot Magician and servomotors. The application framework relates to biometrics and secure documents.

Activities may also include 3D design of mechanical interfaces.

Key Missions

Implementation of various Data fabrication scenarios by programming sequences/functions for the robotic arm:

• Movements,
• Object handling,
• Interfacing with other devices (smartphones, printers, screens, sensors, scanners, etc.),
• Synchronization tasks
• Parameter and Log Management
• Production and Capture of Labels:
  • Describing the test environment used 
  • Describing the origin of source data.
• 3D Design and Printing:
  • Use tools like Blender or SolidWorks to design and 3D print mechanical interfaces for specific object/robot connections.
• Testing Execution:
  • Launch tests using the developed scripts
  • Report incidents during test execution and implement corrections
  • Ensure that all requirements are fully addressed by the developed scripts

Profile & Other Information

• Enrolled in an engineering school or Master’s program, preferably specializing in robotics.
• Training and knowledge in robotics are required.
• Familiarity with 3D design (e.g., Blender, SolidWorks) is a plus.
• Academic or personal experience in robotics is appreciated.
• Proficiency in Python (and HTML).
• Passionate, proactive, autonomous, with strong interpersonal skills
