Data Scientist/AI Engineer Student

What You’ll Be Working On  
  
Our internships and Co-ops are designed to provide you with a business relevant project that will allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility, while receiving support from an assigned Supervisor and Technical Mentor. We’ll help you discover your strengths and   development areas in a challenging, fun, and supportive work environment.  
  
We are seeking a student to join us for a 4 month co-op position starting in May 2025. This position will be based out of Calgary, AB    

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement machine learning models to solve real-world construction problems.

• Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights and improve project outcomes.

• Develop AI apps using Microsoft Suite of tools

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing workflows.

• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

• Other duties as directed.

Who We Need on our Team

• You are currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• You will complete at least one more semester of education following your internship and possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher  

• Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently 

• Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships 

• Familiarity or desire to learn Adobe Creative Suite programs is considered an asset 

• Exemplify the Ideal Team Player – Hungry, Humble, Smart 

• Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals  

• Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude 

• Residency, or a valid work permit which would allow you to work for Bird Construction or one of our wholly owned subsidiaries
