Position Overview

Riverside Research is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer Intern to join our innovative team. This position focuses on supporting the development of Automated Intelligence Solutions, with a particular emphasis on commercial data integration from Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) providers and data fusion techniques. The intern will work on integrating multi-domain data sources, developing proof-of-concept prototypes, and creating tools that enable advanced data analysis for National Security applications.

This internship provides an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, contribute to real-world solutions, and gain hands-on experience in automation, data integration, and intelligence workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing software prototypes for Automated Intelligence Solutions, focusing on the integration of OSINT from commercial data providers.
  • Support data fusion efforts by designing and implementing tools to combine and analyze multi-source data for actionable insights.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or C++.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and refine workflows for automated data analysis and information retrieval.
  • Conduct research on commercial OSINT platforms and their applicability to customer needs.
  • Integrate APIs and other data sources into existing platforms, ensuring compatibility and scalability.
  • Document technical workflows, system designs, and experimental results for project deliverables.
  • Participate in brainstorming and ideation sessions to explore innovative applications of automation and intelligence solutions.

Qualifications

Required:

  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with at least sophomore standing.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, or JavaScript.
  • Basic understanding of data integration, APIs, and working with multi-source datasets.
  • Familiarity with data analysis concepts and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired:

  • Experience with data fusion or combining data from multiple sources to generate insights.
  • Familiarity with OSINT platforms, APIs, and other commercial data providers.
  • Knowledge of machine learning concepts or frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Exposure to cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Interest or experience in National Security missions and applications of automated intelligence.

Global Comp

$26 - $30/hr This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
