The Gonzalez-Lima Lab will be hiring a Software Engineer to apply machine learning techniques to photobiomodulation research.
This position is for 20 hours per week. The position will be active for 1 year with the possibility of renewal for a second year.
Purpose
Lab work involving Computer Science, Data Structures, Algorithms, Linear Algebra, and Vector Geometry. Job involves experience with machine learning techniques and with computer programming languages such as Python, Java, and MATLAB.
Responsibilities
- Machine learning programming: Developing machine learning approaches to data analysis in the context of photobiomodulation research, processing and formatting brain metabolic data and cognitive/behavioral data for the purpose of programming and applying support vector machines and other forms of machine learning, in order to predict treatment response and elucidate the role of specific brain and behavioral factors in the effects of photobiomodulation.
- Interpretation of results of machine learning programming, including creating figures, writing and editing manuscripts, submission of manuscripts to journals, and replies to reviewer comments.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Production experience with at least one computer programming language
- Software development or system administration
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

- Production experience with at least two computer programming languages
- Software development or system administration, at least 1 year
Salary Range
$30,000 (based on a 20-hour work week)
