Role Summary

The Data Product Manager will….

  • Oversee and coordinate data-related projects, ensuring smooth operation and delivery of key initiatives.
  • Develop, lead and execute complex cross-functional project plans with clearly defined milestone, timelines, communication plans and task owners. This includes active stakeholder management and maintaining open lines of communication with project sponsors.
  • Identify, prioritize, and structure, and solve an array of Sales Data needs using analytical and business judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a consultant to the business on the most complex data and reporting requests. Ensures that data reporting and analyses provided to internal clients and stakeholders are timely and accurate and provides actionable insights for teams. Provides analysis recommendations for current and future needs, which minimize redundancy and maximize compatibility of data within and across the business unit. May escalate data protection/privacy issues to management, as necessary. Provides guidance on most complex data issues identified by more junior professionals.
  • Defines and manages processes and controls for the creation, consumption, assimilation, and/or destruction of data. Participates in projects with cross-functional teams and may serve as an advisor from a data management perspective. Ensures project goals are in line with overall data management business goals in terms of data and reporting needs. Facilitates model and reporting adoption through conversations around complex definitions and content.
  • Responsible for leading the development and testing of data management systems. Makes recommendations to management based on analysis and review of reports and findings aggregated by more junior professionals
  • Provides input on and implements a data curation and governance framework in line with the data strategy for specific types of data as appropriate. Ensures regulatory compliance regarding data governance. Obtains strategic support for governance policies from leadership. Educates management on data needs and trends.
  • Manages the most complex data sets. May be responsible for the development and providing guidance on data quality and maintenance policies and procedures. Evangelizes best practices for the business.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
  • 8+ years of total relevant work experience

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project management with Agile Methodology, preferably within data-centric projects.
  • 3-5 years of experience with Wealth/Asset Management Industry, especially in Sales Distribution Function.
  • Knowledge of various products such as Mutual Funds, ETFs, SMA’s, Alternatives.
  • Experience leading and inspiring a team.
  • Experience translating technical data concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

FINRA Requirements

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to two days per week from home.
