We are currently looking for a Data Engineer at our Calgary base in the Information Technology department.

While you may not be flying the helicopter or providing patient care, as a member of STARS’ IT team, you will play an important role in STARS’ life-saving mission. Be part of something bigger. Be part of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure data pipelines and workflows.
• Build and manage ETL/ELT processes using tools like DBT, Airbyte, and Azure Data Factory.
• Implement data modeling, architecture, and infrastructure solutions using tools such as Snowflake, Microsoft SQL, BigQuery, and Databricks.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, SSRS, Looker, Sisense, and Tableau.
• Work with SQL, Python and DAX to enable advanced analytics and AI solutions
• Automate testing, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring to ensure robust data workflows.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or a similar role specifically focused on cloud data technologies and tools in partnership with a strong foundation in data architecture, modeling and governance.
• Extensive experience implementing data transformations and pipelines, using cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Big Query and Databricks, and pipeline tools such as DBT, Airbyte, DAGs, and Azure Data Factory.
• Experience with SQL, Python and DAX to enable advanced analytics and AI solutions.
