About the role

A wonderful opportunity for a Data Analyst to join Ocado Group’s Legal and Integrity team on a FTC basis of 12 months. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing, designing, developing and maintaining key data sets to facilitate analysis and reporting at a strategic level and report into the UK Insurance & Relationship Manager. You will have the opportunity to work with a number of stakeholders such as Head of Insurance, UK Insurance & Relationship Manager, and Insurance Claims team. You will also work closely with Data stewards and other data analytics resources business-wide.

Accountabilities

  • Engaging with users to understand their reporting requirements, including anticipated future needs
  • Supporting Group Head of Insurance and UK Insurance & Relationship Manager in managing multiple data sets and facilitating consistent and reporting to key stakeholders
  • Overseeing expansion and enhancement of the data analytics capacity for Insurance management purposed
  • Reporting into the Motor Claims Costs and Strategic Project Group
  • Designing, building and developing scalable and robust cloud-based data analytics and leading the production and maintenance of a suitable dashboard
  • Ensuring that design & content requirements are properly captured and effectively communicated to stakeholders where development is required
  • Developing and enhancing data solutions with the goal of improving workflows and driving down claims and associated costs through a data-driven approach.
  • Using effective project management tools (e.g. Jira, Gitlab) within the Ocado Technology approved stack, ensuring efforts are in line with wider business direction and tools
  • Ensuring designs and plans are within the defined frameworks typical for Ocado Group, and selecting / utilising technologies from the Ocado Technology approved stack only

Essential criteria

  • Accomplished analyst with experience working with Big Data, ideally with 2 or more years analytical experience
  • Technical skills in the manipulation, analysis and visualisation of quantitative and/or qualitative data to “tell a story”. E.g. SQL, G-Suite, Looker, PowerBI.
  • Comfortable communicating with technical and non-technical senior management and key stakeholders
  • A proven track record of identifying and delivering actionable insight and demonstrable business change through the application of analytics with a product mindset
  • A critical thinker, with the curiosity to be constantly on the lookout for opportunities and the confidence to challenge and push back
  • Comfortable in operating autonomously in ambiguous environments
  • Experience adapting to a fast-changing environment

Desirable

  • Experience with experimentation and hypothesis testing
  • Python, Java Script  (or other scripting language)
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • First class or 2.1 degree with a demonstrable highly numerate or social science content (such as maths, economics, statistics, operational research, data science, psychology, analytics
