In this position... 

As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will be at the forefront of our data-driven transformation, playing a pivotal role in turning raw data into actionable insights that fuel strategic decision-making across the organization, with a particular focus on fleet management. You will bridge the gap between complex data and business needs, creating clear and compelling visualizations and reports that empower our teams to make informed choices, identify new opportunities, and drive continuous improvement within our fleet operations. Your expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and reporting will be essential in building a robust and scalable data infrastructure that supports our growth and innovation, particularly as it relates to optimizing fleet performance, managing costs, and ensuring safety and compliance. You will be a key contributor to our data-driven culture, fostering a deeper understanding of our fleet operations and enabling us to make data-informed decisions that drive positive results in this critical area.

 What you'll do...

Data Modeling & Design:

• Design, develop, and maintain data models, data warehouses, and data marts specifically focused on fleet management data.
• Analyze business requirements related to fleet operations and translate them into technical specifications for data structures and ETL processes.
• Develop and implement data quality checks and validation procedures to ensure data accuracy and integrity within the fleet management domain.

ETL Development & Management:

• Develop and maintain efficient and scalable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to move fleet management data from various sources into data warehouses and data marts.
• Optimize ETL processes for performance and efficiency, ensuring timely data delivery for fleet management reporting and analysis.
• Design and implement robust error handling and logging mechanisms for fleet management ETL processes.

Fleet Management Reporting & Visualization:

• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using industry-standard BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense) specifically tailored for fleet management insights.
• Design and implement data visualizations that effectively communicate fleet performance metrics, cost analysis, safety trends, and other relevant insights to various stakeholders across the organization.
• Ensure reports and visualizations are user-friendly, intuitive, and meet the specific needs of fleet managers, operations teams, and other stakeholders.

Fleet Data Analysis & Insights:

• Analyze fleet data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support optimizing fleet performance, managing costs, ensuring safety, and improving operational efficiency.
• Communicate data insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and other forms of communication, focusing on actionable recommendations for fleet optimization.
• Proactively identify opportunities for data-driven improvements within fleet operations and recommend solutions based on data analysis.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with fleet customers, operations teams, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and ensure alignment between data solutions and fleet management objectives.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure data integration and consistency across systems, particularly those related to fleet management.
• Clearly communicate technical concepts and data insights to non-technical audiences within the fleet management context.

.You'll have... 

• Bachelor's degree is required (concentration in computer science, data analytics, or STEM discipline is preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in building & supporting data-driven approaches and tools to support clients

Even better, you may have...

• Bachelor's degree with concentration in computer science, data analytics, or STEM discipline
• MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
• Experience in sales support and pre-sales activities is preferred.
• Prior fleet management services experience is preferred.
• Prior operational experience preferred but not required.
• Experienced in agile project management methodologies – Preferred 
• Highly motivated, self-starter who can think creatively and operate in a dynamic white space environment, specifically concerning solution development. 
• Strong interpersonal skills for building client relationships and effectively communicating with other team members.
• Willingness and ability to travel to attend meetings and meet with fleet customers and dealers.
• Ability to comfortably manage multiple projects with competing demands for resources under tight deadlines
• Strong analytical experience; experience with platform solutions such as Power BI, Qlik, Alteryx, SQL, Snowflake, Smartsheet, Jira, RPA or related software solutions - Preferred
• Crisp, insightful oral- and written-communication style and able to summarize, using data & supporting narrative across multiple formats 
• Ability to effectively navigate, collaborate, & communicate across cross-stakeholder teams and Subject Matter Experts within IT and Business/Operations. Must be adept at influencing across various levels of the organization and storytelling to highlight value and inspire action.
• Passionate about using data to drive operational excellence and improve the customer experience; high orientation to detail & data accuracy and supporting new ways of working to create better data and insights
