About the Role:JDSAT is looking for an enthusiastic, self-driven, and experienced Business Analyst. The qualified candidate must have the requisite educational background. The ideal candidate will be a proven dynamic leader with experience coordinating and collaborating with diverse technical, managerial, and administrative staff to ensure successful outcomes for strategic-level programs that are characterized by numerous concurrent projects or work streams. The ideal candidate will be a superb communicator and strategic thinker who is capable of distilling complex information into decision-generating insight for senior government executives up to the congressional level. The ideal candidate will be an excellent oral and written communicator who is capable of framing project-level approaches and translating technical material into decision-generating insights for clients who may not have similar technical expertise.This position requires a SECRET clearance or demonstrated ability to obtain such clearance. Although being on-site in Fairfax, VA is desirable, this position is open to hybrid work.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a data analytics team delivering technical solutions that meet client requirements to create dynamic data visualizations and analysis tools to enable informed decision making.
  • Work with clients, managers, and technical staff to understand business needs and translate these needs into analytical solutions.
  • Aid in monitoring the maintenance of developed products to ensure products meet customer requirements.
  • Summarize complex data/information in written, spoken, and visual communications for an executive audience.
  • Possess ability to lead others to conduct exploratory analysis and data visualization.
  • Support implementation of proof of concepts to deploy analytical methods and validate modeling assumptions.
  • Construct products that communicate technical and functional areas to clients such as briefings (oral and written), white papers, and reports.
  • Assist in applying common best practices for analytics to the customer and to identify relevant issues and considerations in selecting and implementing applications.
  • Identify innovative solutions, inadequacies, and/or deficiencies that affect the team’s ability to advance project goals.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s (or higher) in Business Analytics, Business, Business Administration, Project or Program Management, Government Administration, Health Administration, Economics, STEM, or related discipline combined with a minimum of four (4) years' experience supporting federal programs as a general schedule (GS) employee or contractor.
  • Familiarity with data visualizations (Excel, Tableau, etc.).
  • Experience extracting, transforming, and loading data using SQL and relational databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Outstanding problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience supporting projects with an Agile/Scrum workflow.
  • Experience working with DoD health agencies.
  • Strong ability to document efficient methodologies and frameworks.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain documentation pertaining to programming, systems operation, and user documentation.
  • Comfortable with quickly preparing and communicating presentations, leading client working groups and government senior-level staff engagements.
  • Experience with creating intuitive data visualizations in Tableau.
  • Familiarity with Python and SAS.
