Description

The Peter O’Donnell Jr. School of Public Health (OSPH) at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking dynamic applicants with an innovative research portfolio for Health Data Sciences and Biostatistics Faculty opportunities.

  • Candidates with a record of collaborative research especially in health care or academic medical center environments
  • Candidates with experience in supporting investigators in study design, data analyses, publications and statistical support for research grant proposals
  •  Although not required, candidates with prior experience in survey methods, predictive modeling, EHR data, or large population data analysis, such as Medicare Claims data, will be preferred.
  • PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
  • While not required, candidates with prior experience in Medical Imaging Analysis, Machine Learning/AI, Causal Inference, or Genomics will receive preference.
  • Experience in developing methods in emerging areas of statistics directly relevant to clinical research, examples include novel clinical trial designs and analysis of massive EHR data.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • A Ph.D., Sc.D., DrPH, or equivalent research doctoral degree in biostatistics or closely related field (completed by start date).
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct impactful scholarly research.
  • Ability to mentor students and capacity for teaching excellence at the graduate level.
  • Highly self-motivated individual, enthusiastic about scientific discovery and able to collaborate closely and effectively with other members of multidisciplinary research teams.
  • Desire to partner with healthcare systems, public health agencies, and/or community organizations to conduct research aimed at enhancing the health of the people of Texas and beyond.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and education.
  • Commitment in collaboration in translational or clinical research.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Time management and multi-tasking.
