Role Summary

MPC is seeking a Data Analyst with 9+ years of overall work experience and a Project Management background to design, develop, and maintain data visualization solutions to empower data-driven decision-making in support of a Federal Agency. This role requires expertise in Tableau to transform raw data into visually compelling and interactive dashboards and reports. The ideal candidate is skilled in understanding business needs, analyzing data, and delivering actionable insights. 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Dashboard and Report Development:
    • Design and develop Tableau dashboards, visualizations, and reports based on business requirements.
    • Optimize dashboards for performance, usability, and user experience.
  • Data Analysis and Preparation:
    • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Tableau.
    • Work with large datasets to ensure data accuracy and quality.
    • Create calculated fields, parameters, and sets to meet analytical needs.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
    • Communicate insights and findings effectively to non-technical audiences.
    • Provide training and support to end-users on Tableau dashboards and analytics.
  • System Maintenance and Optimization:
    • Maintain existing Tableau dashboards, ensuring timely updates and bug fixes.
    • Monitor and improve the performance of Tableau server environments.
  • Documentation and Standards:
    • Document data workflows, dashboard specifications, and system configurations.
    • Adhere to best practices for data visualization and business intelligence.
  • Innovation and Improvement:
    • Stay up-to-date with Tableau updates and new features.
    • Suggest and implement innovative solutions to improve data visualization processes.

What We Need From You (Required) 

    • Minimum 9 years of overall work experience supporting federal clients in a management consulting or data-related role
    • Experience in an Agile IT project management environment
    • Proven experience as a Tableau Developer or in a similar role
    • Proficiency in Tableau Dashboard creation
    • Advanced experience with building and managing ETL processes
    • Strong SQL skills for querying and data manipulation
    • Experience with data blending, aggregation, and joining across multiple data sources
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
    • Ability to create integration with various data sources, on-prem and cloud, including Microsoft Project and ServiceNow

Bonus Points (Desired)

    • Exposure to PMO environments or teams
    • Familiarity with Visual Basic as it relates to Microsoft integrations
    • Experience with Google Workspace, including automated jobs running with Google AppScript

Education Level

Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field (Masters, or PhD highly preferred) or Relevant job experience

Clearance Level

Ability to obtain a Public Trust; U.S. Citizenship required (NO EXCEPTIONS) Compensation decisions are dependent of the facts and circumstances of each case.  A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100K-120K.
