The Analyst is based within the Analytics team, supporting a broad spectrum of business stakeholders by finding innovative connections through data mining. Providing the business with deep insights into the current and likely future behaviour of Rests members and employers.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Develop and deliver pre-campaign analysis, targeting and post implementation reviews.
  • Help devise and implement customer behavioural analysis, providing actionable insights to key stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain new / existing Tableau dashboards to support analytical solutions
  • As appropriate, devise and implement predictive models, trigger detection techniques, and execute via our customer facing channels and marketing automation tool
  • Work closely with the others in the Analytics team to deploy new analytical capabilities
  • Contribute to projects designed to understand key member behaviours that drive customer acquisition, retention, and engagement
  • Collaborate with colleagues from other group functions to identify and deliver their analytical needs

Specific requirements for this role:

  • Strong ability and interest in translating data into information; information into knowledge; including the ability to identify data patterns, trends and linkages
  • Analytical skills to combine both quantitative and qualitative information that allow for the development of insights driven reports and dashboards
  • Application of statistical techniques to test for significance and member profiling
  • Strong eye for detail and numerical accuracy

The Analyst will operate across various aspects of the Analytic team’s scope:

  • Specific areas of focus and activity may change depending on changing needs or priorities
  • To support the learning and development of the incumbent
  • The role will also have exposure to various teams across the organisation

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in mathematics / statistics / computer science or related discipline

Required experience, understanding or credentials including:

  • Experience with a range of databases including marketing databases
  • Experience in SQL
  • Exposure to cloud-based platforms (E.g. AWS Redshift)
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, lifting the conversation out of the technical jargon
  • Possess planning, organising and project management skills

Additionally, what we are looking for:

  • Industry knowledge preferred – experience and / or understanding of superannuation / financial services industry / insurance
  • Exposure to predictive models / machine learning methodologies and tools (E.g. R and Python)
  • Self-starter: self-motivated and entrepreneurial, with a strong execution ability, and able to set priorities and work independently under guidance.
  • A can-do-attitude: you like a challenge and have a winning spirit, curious and driven to learn and understand how things work – keen sense of business and passion for professional development.
  • Team-Oriented: a team player dedicated focusing on outcomes and will deliver on them.
  • Effective communicator: strong written and verbal communication skills with a willing to reach out, discuss and collaborate with key stakeholders, both independently and as a team.
  • Flexible: and able to adapt quickly to a changing environment.
  • Relationship builder - excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders at the same time.
  • Organised – ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong sense of curiosity – demonstrates a willingness to learn new things, get in and have a go, ask questions and be passionate about better outcomes.
