Externally: Consultants, Professional Associations, and Technology Stakeholders.

Job Summary:

This role will be crucial in developing and maintaining insightful dashboards and reports, leveraging data primarily from our Microsoft Dynamics suite of ERP platforms and other data sources.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of data analysis principles, Power BI development, and experience working within data warehouse and Microsoft Dynamics environment.

 

This role requires a proactive individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for transforming data into actionable business intelligence.

 

In addition, the role will oversee management of the data warehouse and related process, including gathering of detailed requirements, implementing projects, reporting, and ensuring that data related issues are resolved correctly.

 

Key Responsibilities:

    1. Analyse complex datasets and provide actionable insights to support business operations.
    2. Develop, implement, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, primarily connected to Microsoft Dynamics data sources, or other business-related sources.
    3. Collaborate with various departments to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that meet those needs.
    4. Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources, including Microsoft Dynamics ERP systems, into Power BI.
    5. Build, maintain and continue to evolve the business data warehouse.
    6. Ensure data accuracy and integrity within the Microsoft Dynamics ERP system.
    7. Develop DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) measures and calculations within Power BI to provide meaningful insights.
    8. Optimize Power BI reports for performance and scalability.
    9. Create and maintain documentation for developed reports and dashboards, including data dictionaries and user guides.
    10. Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI and data analysis best practices.
    11. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data analytics and Power BI, as well as developments within the Microsoft Dynamics ecosystem.
    12. Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
    13. Participate in data governance initiatives and ensure compliance with data quality standards.
    14. Collaborate with other IT team members to integrate data from different systems.
    15. Perform ad-hoc data analysis as required.

  1. Dashboards and analytics as requested by business.
  2. User specification documents.
  3. System functional capability documents and comparison matrices.
  4. Data flow and report development documentation.
  5. Project plans and schedules that are always up to date.

Accountability:

This role Analyst is accountable to Manager Business Applications for technical guidance.

The responsibilities stated in this job description will be monitored and managed through the mid-year and annual performance review and supported through the monitoring of KPIs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications in data analysis or BI development tools.
  • Minimum five (2) years’ experience data analysis, and BI development.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, solution delivery and quality control.
  • Ability to write effective system documentation – business and system requirements, process diagrams, data flow charts, solution mapping, technical solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP platforms will be an advantage.
  • Experience with other data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView) will be an advantage.
  • Microsoft certifications related to Power BI and/or Dynamics 365.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts.
