Real-World Evidence (RWE) Consultant - Remote

Job Summary

Our Real-World Evidence Consultants are responsible for providing commercial and scientific strategies for real-world evidence generation, focusing on study design and business development.  You are a strategic thinker with exceptional communication skills and scientific capabilities to deliver RWE projects and support business growth successfully.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Study Consultancy

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define research objectives, outcomes of interest, and data requirements for RWE studies at the proposal phase and during study development.
  • Evaluating and recommending appropriate RWE methods and data sources to address specific research questions and objectives based on client needs
  • Working in close conjunction with the internal stakeholders supporting the implementation of both primary and secondary projects that cover all our key service offerings, including:
    • Evidence generation workshops and strategy consulting 
    • Quantitative/qualitative surveys 
    • Retrospective and prospective chart reviews 
    • Retrospective database studies using European secondary electronic medical records (EMR), claims, and registry databases 
    • Database landscaping and feasibility assessments 
    • Expert elicitation/consensus research

 Commercial Delivery

  • Developing study protocols for RWE generation projects involving primary or secondary data collection supported by internal stakeholders.
  • Developing study reports and client presentation materials, communicating findings to the client, supported by internal stakeholders
  • Ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines, quality standards, and best practices in RWE study design and execution.
  • Ensuring clients’ commercial and scientific goals are met as their project proceeds.
  • Supporting internal stakeholders by identifying new business opportunities and collaborating on scope change discussions as required throughout the delivery of the project. 

Business Development

  • Supporting the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities in RWE and Proactively identifying opportunities for upselling or expanding existing client engagements through additional services or collaborations.
  • Supporting the development of detailed and accurate proposals in response to client briefs, including the development of study design, objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Assisting internal stakeholders in preparing project fees and cost estimates for the client proposal to meet the client's scope of work and ensure the success of the project.
  • Supporting the internal stakeholders in obtaining fee/cost estimates from external stakeholders for proposal development. 

 Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

  • A MSc or PhD in a healthcare or scientific-related subject (e.g., epidemiology, statistics, Health Data Science)
  • Must have experience in healthcare RWE research (e.g. within industry, consultancy/Clinical Research Organizations, and/or academia)
  • Possess strong scientific knowledge of conducting quantitative and qualitative observational or non-interventional studies.
  • A keen scientific interest in clinical developments in the healthcare arena and a continual effort to understand current challenges in the pharmaceutical industry
  • An independent, proactive self-starter with strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset. 
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to build working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent time management, project management, and presentation skills
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential
  • Knowledgeable in statistical techniques, such as descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, and survival analysis 
  • Proficiency in statistical software such as R, SQL, SAS or Python for data manipulation and analysis is a plus.

Travel Requirements

  • 20% potential global travel
