Position Overview

Riverside Research is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team. The intern will work closely with engineers and scientists to support research and development efforts, focusing on data analysis, modeling and simulation, and the development of AI Agents and automated intelligence solutions. This internship provides an opportunity to contribute to mission-critical projects, gain hands-on experience in engineering design, and develop innovative solutions for National Security clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of engineering models and simulations using tools like MATLAB, FORTRAN, and C++.
  • Support research and development projects related to automated intelligence solutions, AI Agents, and Data Fusion.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop solutions for real-world engineering challenges.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation based on project outcomes.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide innovative ideas to enhance current designs and processes.
  • Conduct data analysis for thermal and mechanical systems, integrating numerical methods as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with at least sophomore standing.
  • Experience with MATLAB, FORTRAN, C++, or other programming languages..
  • Solid foundation in relevant coursework, including dynamics, numerical methods, and materials science.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to new challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired:

  • Experience with Open.AI ChatGPT Prompts or other Large Language Models.
  • Previous experience working in research labs or on engineering competition teams.
  • Leadership experience mentoring or guiding others in an academic or professional setting.

Global Comp

$20 - $30/hr This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
