Leidos Lands RF Systems currently has an exciting opportunity for a talented and Multi-disciplined Junior Engineer/analyst/software developer for both modeling & simulation efforts and hardware integration/testing efforts within the Sensor Systems Analysis and Engineering Portfolio which is experiencing programmatic growth.
You will join our diverse team of junior-to-senior software developers, engineers, and scientists to help create unique solutions for complex problems. Our team solves important problems that make a difference and support our customers in the current and future defense of our nation; primarily in the areas of sensor integration, testing, characterization, modeling, simulation, data analysis, and algorithm development for electro-optical infrared (EO/IR) and other sensor systems including radar and acoustics. The ideal candidate will be have diverse interests and/or can demonstrate experience in and/or enthusiasm toward developing a broader technical capability to support overlapping engineering and scientific disciplines. Candidate will eventually be expected to support multiple tasks in parallel, productively contribute in a team environment, and communicate effectively to management, coworkers, and customers.

Primary Responsibilities
You will work closely with a team of engineers and scientists to write/use tools and use analytical/engineering skills to solve problems in a variety of disciplines to include M&S, EO/IR sensor systems, and other sensor and modeling and testing applications. Candidate is also expected to have the ability to work and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team, demonstrating the ability to work within an established, fast-paced, skilled team of engineers and scientists, contributing to various projects which often require analyzing, understanding, testing, and modeling complex, real-world phenomena to support design and decision making.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in software engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, engineering physics, data science, or an equivalent engineering or science degree and less than 2 years years of relevant experience.
Must be a US citizen, be able to maintain a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL, area.
Preferred Qualifications
Highly organized, demonstrating the ability to be accountable for small projects because the need to fit into a highly productive team seamlessly.
Preference may be given to candidates with one of more of the following:
- Recent stellar academic performance
- Relevant experience or competency that demonstrates a multi-disciplined skillset
- SECRET clearance or higher TS/SCI clearance (with CI Polygraph)
- Familiarity or interest in EO/IR phenomenology
- Familiarity or interest in hardware integration and testing
- Experience with image processing and analysis
- Experience with programming in C++ and/or Python
- Experience with GPU programming and/or CUDA programming
- Experience with developing or analyzing AI/ML solutions.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
