Quantitative Research Analyst

This is an individual contributor role reporting into the head of Quantitative Data Research. This role will be responsible to support, enhance, and build-out the technical infrastructure and data systems used by quantitative researchers to conduct new research and proof-of-concept model prototypes as well as to
support the model development lifecycle and model documentation generation and automation.

The daily activities will include data ETL into traditional single server and cloud systems, setting up environments that facilitate machine learning on big data, assist with model documentation, monitor (and troubleshooting as needed) monthly scripts producing client-facing research packs and performance reports, and general admin to ensure the health of our hybrid on-prem and cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Learning and understanding data and compute needs for existing models.
• Support the model development lifecycle and model documentation generation and automation.
• Support regular model performance monitoring.
• Commitment to support and improvement of existing implementations.
• Understand data flows that support quant models: customize data storage and processing to optimize for user experience, cost, and speed.
• Learn our on-prem and cloud platform and lead data processing and prototype development.
• Support researchers around the construction of new models.
• Understand model construction and paths to production.
• Coordinate with researchers, developers, data teams, client services and product management team members on code, cloud, and research outreach.

Candidate Profile / Key Skills:
• Technical degree in a field such as Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Physics, or Mathematics preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Python programming language is required.
• Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation is required.
• Proficiency in a Unix or Linux environment is required.
• Cloud experience with AWS and/or Azure is required.
• Spark (or variants like AWS Glue) for large-scale processing of structured and unstructured data is a plus.
• Experience in applying machine learning and NLP is a plus.
• Prior experience integrating data and models into production processes is desired.
• Needs to be self-reliant and resourceful.

Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/”bonus plan”). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience.
