The Advancement Data Analytics Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the mission and goals of The Ohio State University and the Wexner Center for the Arts (WCA). This position is central to ensuring data integrity, providing actionable insights, and enhancing the organization’s ability to make data-informed decisions. The analytics specialist’s primary responsibilities include managing and analyzing donor data, creating key performance dashboards, and supporting strategic fundraising initiatives through data-driven reporting.
Collaborating with frontline fundraisers and internal stakeholders, the analytics specialist captures and validates data to reflect donor and community needs, providing insights that strengthen WCA’s impact. Regularly presenting to leadership and stakeholders, this role is pivotal in fostering a culture of strategic planning supported by accurate data.
This position requires expertise in data management, a keen eye for detail, and strong communication skills to work effectively across departments. Success in this role relies on the ability to prioritize critical responsibilities, including maintaining donor records, creating dashboards, and delivering insights to advance WCA’s goals.
Position Overview
The Advancement Data Analytics Specialist ensures accurate donor records, produces key reports, and supports team operations to optimize workflow and donor engagement. The role’s top priorities include:
Data Integrity and Management: Ensure donor and fundraising data is accurate, consistent, and readily available for decision-making.
- Centralize and support data management processes, ensuring accuracy and availability for reporting.
- Lead data migration efforts between TAS, Tessitura, and Workday, ensuring synchronization and consistency.
- Maintain critical tools such as the WCA credit registry and Fundraising Attainment Dashboard, providing updated data for strategic decision-making.
- Work collaboratively and in partnership with the OSU Advancement Office to identify efficiencies and resources to enhance WCA fundraising workflow.
Actionable Insights: Analyze and interpret data to create impactful dashboards and reports that inform strategic goals.
- Develop and manage dashboards and visualizations to monitor progress and present insights to stakeholders.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for growth.
- Generate impact reports for leadership and stakeholders to evaluate program outcomes and inform strategies.
Stakeholder Support: Collaborate with the Wex advancement team and OSU Advancement office as well as Wex staff to address data needs, prepare donor profiles, and support high-impact events.
- Conduct donor research, prepare briefings, and manage event attendee insights for high-priority engagements.
- Collaborate with staff across departments to address data needs for campaigns and events.
- Provide guidance on interpreting data and using systems effectively.
The analytics specialist also acts as a liaison to the Wex Business Office, coordinating financial reconciliation and gift tracking. Key responsibilities include supporting donor and member cultivation events and representing the organization at public-facing engagements. Supports the office of the WCA Executive Director. Reports to the Head of Advancement. Support cross-functional projects and represent WCA at events as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data analytics, or a relevant field is necessary for this position.
- Minimum of 2 years of reporting and analytics experience
- A minimum of one year of professional experience working with a CRM system such as TAS, Tessitura, or similar systems.
- Experience in advancement departments, such as donor relations, stewardship, donor communications, and/or alumni relations.
- Must display exceptional organizational skills and must be detail-oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent customer relationship skills
- Ability to solve problems and drive issues or projects to conclusion
- Ability to work collaboratively across the organization
- Proficiency in intermediate-level Excel functions
- Demonstrated interest in contemporary arts
Additional Information:
The target hiring range for this job profile is $ 24.52 - 32.21 The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
