Chemours is seeking a Manufacturing Technology Manager to join our growing industry-leading Titanium Technologies (TT) business and growing TT Manufacturing Technology team! This position will report directly to the Plant Manager at our New Johnsonville, TN location.
This is a highly visible, key role within the Company and the Manufacturing Technology function for the Titanium Technology assets. This role leads a team of approximately 13 exempt employees. Through collaboration with TT leadership and a deep understanding of the business, this role must foster a world-class operational culture and capitalize on any improvement opportunities to minimize manufacturing costs and product carbon footprint.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for day-to-day manufacturing technical support, as well as short and medium-range technology projects and improvements to achieve the lowest costs of manufacturing.
- Provide direction, guidance, and support to a team of engineers and chemists fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Works closely with operations leadership to set clear goals (safety, asset productivity and quality) and performance expectations for team members.
- Works with site/unit leaders to develop and apply resources to meet objectives
- Ensure adequate staffing by participating in the recruitment process to hire qualified professionals who align with the team’s needs and company culture.
- Identify and develop talent within the team through training and mentorship programs.
- Cultivate a positive work environment that motivates team members.
- Recognize and reward teams accomplishments and contributions to maintain high morale and engagement.
- Generates and manages a portfolio of projects that is consistent with plant and business strategy and covers all time horizons.
- Member of the Plant Leadership staff and TT Technology Council.
- Collaborate closely with the Operations, Quality, Maintenance and Capital Teams at the site, the Technology Teams at the Chemours Discovery Hub, the Manufacturing Technology groups at the other TT manufacturing sites, Product Management and Product Stewardship organizations to improve the overall TT operational excellence and customer experience.
- Network with peers and leverage knowledge from other functions and corporate groups
The following is required for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Chemistry
- 5+ years of supervisory experience
- Experience in an industrial setting
- Self-managing, proactive with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership capability – personnel development, leading teams, resolving conflict, and sound judgment
- Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, mentor, and develop others
The following is preferred for this role:
- Experience with highly toxic materials and/or high hazards processes
- Six Sigma greenbelt certification or formal training in statistical analysis
- Working knowledge of data analytics and statistics using tools like 6-Sigma, python, Power BI, Alteryx or process industry specific time-series analysis tools
- Technical Experience as Engineer or Chemist at a manufacturing facility
