Job Title: Associate, Risk and Quantitative Analysis

Location: 400 Howard St San Francisco, CA 94105

Job Duties: Developing code and automation to improve risk infrastructure to scale risk management for equity index products. Apply mathematical or statistical techniques to address practical issues in finance, such as derivative valuation, securities trading, risk management, or financial market regulation. Perform research and analysis in portfolio construction for new and existing products, including topics such as security sampling, optimization, liquidity, corporate actions and more. Research or develop analytical tools to address issues such as portfolio construction or optimization, performance measurement, attribution, and profit and loss measurement. Understand how macroeconomic factors and market dynamics drive investment decision-making process. Conduct regular risk review and engage with portfolio managers and stakeholders to manage and improve investment process. Provide application or analytical support to researchers or traders on issues such as valuations or data. Confer with other financial engineers or analysts on trading strategies, market dynamics, or trading system performance to inform development of quantitative techniques.

Qualifications: One (1) year of experience (with Master's degree) or three (3) years of experience (with Bachelor's degree): Excel (VBA), Powerpoint, Word, and Power BI; Python; Statistical and mathematical concepts to produce financial models including regression analysis, multi-factor risk models, principal component analysis, machine learning algorithms, probability, monte carlo simulations, and financial valuation models; Advanced knowledge of financial concepts including asset pricing, financial risk measurement, portfolio management, liquidity, optimizations, performance attribution, asset allocation, market dynamics, fundamental analysis, yield curve analysis, and hedging with derivatives; Financial data tools including Bloomberg, Third-party risk models including Barra and Axioma, and Aladdin tools, and; investments and markets to provide portfolio construction and security selection recommendations.

Salary: $150,000.00 - $155,000.00

For San Francisco, CA Only the salary range for this position is USD$150,000.00 - USD$155,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
