Commodity Risk Management Intern

The Commodity Risk Management Intern will contribute to the development of a visual commodity risk dashboard to assist in decision-making for commodity entry points. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analysis, risk management, and dashboard creation, providing valuable insights to support corporate purchasing strategies.

• Develop a visual commodity risk dashboard, including numeric data, gauges, and charts.
• Design tools for drilling down to individual commodities and rolling up to corporate risk.
• Create databases of key variables with easy-update functions.
• Collaborate with internal and external SMEs to outline commodity influences and determine the weighting of variables.
• Test and refine dashboard iterations based on feedback from stakeholders.

Education:

• Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Coursework in Economics, including macro/microeconomics and futures markets.
• Data analysis experience, including Excel data analytics.
• Proficiency in Python programming (required).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

• Work involves light exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, and/or noise.
• Moderate physical effort required, such as standing, sitting, and walking in and around the office; the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. Guenther and Son, will be provided.
