Senior Analyst BFO Analytics (all genders)

THE ROLE & THE TEAM

The BFO Senior Business Analyst is an integral part of the Business Finance Organization (BFO) Analytics team. BFO is Zalando’s B2C Financial arm, acting as a strategic partner for Zalando's business by supporting planning, steering, and business enablement to make commercial decisions. As part of your role, you will lead projects to bring efficiencies & automations to critical financial reporting. You will serve as the intermediary between business partners & systems/data engineers to bring this to life.

The role demands understanding in SAP data, SAP Datasphere, analytical modeling, project management, data analysis skills, data-base structuring, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to optimize planning frameworks. We are looking for a motivated self-starter with proven analytical skills, strong corporate finance and quantitative skills and keen interest in Zalando’s business. WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• Strengthen our SAP BI and Analytics capabilities through building tailored financial models, reports, dashboards, and analyses that drive insights.

• Support our stakeholders in a fast-paced, innovative environment with data-driven insights. 

• Ensure the accuracy and quality of BFO data, collaborating with business, finance, and data engineering stakeholders to foster continuous improvement.

• Manage work streams independently and lead cross-functional projects

• Be a data explorer, an educator, and a partner in decision making.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• You have a degree (Bachelor, Master, MBA) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics or an equivalent field along with 5+ years of relevant professional experience.

• You come with financial modelling and data analysis skills

• You have experience in data models and ETL process creation

• You have hands-on experience with SAP technologies (SAP BW, SAP DWC / DSP, SAP HANA)

• You possess advanced SQL ability; Python knowledge is a plus

• You have a strong background in data visualization, building and maintaining high quality reports & dashboards at organizational level using Datasphere/SAC and MSTR,Tableau, Looker, SAP SAC, PowerBI etc.

• You possess strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and deliver results.

• You have the ability to simplify & synthesize technical complexity and requirements into clear and actionable steps.

• You have a strategic mindset with a focus on driving process improvements.

• You show ownership of what you do, caring about the correctness of your work and keeping tabs on the health of the domains for which you are responsible.
