Job Description

The Project Manager (PM) will take on the role of Scrum Master for an Agile Development team. They will communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders quarterly.  To help the Agile team achieve their goals, they will maintain and execute a quarterly work plan, help raise awareness and mitigate risks.

They will direct the day-to-day activities of Analysts, Engineers, Developers, and other IS personnel. The PM, in conjunction with the Release Train Engineer (RTE) and other Scrum Masters, is responsible for the success of the teams' plans, ensuring committed work is completed on schedule and the flow of value is optimized for the agile team they manage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Agile coaching and facilitation of all team ceremonies
  • Leads the Scrum and development team in self-organization
  • Removes impediments and provides visibility and/or escalation to leadership
  • Fosters a positive and productive environment within the Agile team
  • Monitors sprint/iteration work closely, proactively manages dependencies, and ensures committed work is delivered on time
  • Keeps team organized and focused
  • Understands the context and status of each feature and story planned for work
  • Supports the RTE in administering quarterly planning

This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Business, or in a relevant field
  • Ability to successfully navigate and execute within ambiguous and stressful situations
  • Critical thinking/problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Data visualization skills for highlighting and trending progress
  • High level of integrity, ownership, accountability and initiative
  • Continuous learner; receptive to feedback, with a desire for improvement
  • Experienced problem solver, strong collaborator, and able to provide organization and clarity around complex topics
  • Ability to actively inspire, coach, mentor, and motivate

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies and activities, particularly Scrum and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • 1-3+ years of experience in related field (i.e., project management, software development, IS or Agile leadership, etc.)
  • SAFe Scrum Master certification or similar
  • Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams to deliver results with tight deadlines
  • Understanding of the transportation/logistics industry
  • Familiarity working with compliance systems like those under S404
  • Comfortable working on production systems under audit
  • Knowledge of the basic nature of auditing, enterprise IT environment and information system concepts, and IT audit principles and practices a plus

Additional Information

Expected base salary:  $80,000 to $125,000
