The Role
Wpromote is looking for a Senior Data Analyst with excellent math, logic, and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail and the desire to learn new tools and strategies.  This individual will contribute to data mining, data cleansing, data analysis, experimental design, and visualization initiatives. The primary function of this role will be to provide actionable insights to our client’s marketing initiatives. This individual will also maintain existing solutions while gaining guided experience in advanced analytics to enable increased responsibility over time. This individual will also have the opportunity to work with exciting clients in the e-commerce, retail, and entertainment space while interacting with the Engineering, Reporting, Product, Paid Media, and Data Science teams.
The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $80,000- 105,000, based on consideration of a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. At Wpromote, pay ranges are subject to change and are based on specific market medians for similar jobs according to third-party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary due to skills, experience, and available budget. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above).

You Will Be

  • Using R and/or Python for data cleaning, experimentation (design and evaluation), statistical modeling, process improvement, and automation
  • Interpreting, presenting, and communicating results by creating presentations and/or dashboards that communicate a succinct and compelling business story, driving decisions through research results
  • Learning to transform, improve, and integrate data, depending on the business requirements
  • Planning and scoping end-to-end data analysis projects by identifying the business problem and selecting appropriate investigative testing and solutions
  • Working in platform-specific clean rooms to understand ad campaigns, audience breakdowns, and other marketing insights
  • Conducting marketing-focused experiments utilizing different methodologies such as geo-experiments, in-platform testing, matched markets
  • Working across various departments to understand client needs
  • Using SQL and BigQuery to generate data sets for analysis

You Must Have

  • 2+ years of hands-on data analysis experience within an agency or in-house environment
  • Advanced programming skills (R or Python) for data cleaning, data modeling, building pipelines, statistical analysis, conducting API calls, etc
  • Advanced experience in SQL (i.e.: window functions, stored procedures, and views, triggers, unions, CTEs, subqueries, debugging)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Critical thinking: the ability to look at numbers, trends, and data and come to new conclusions based on the findings
  • Excellent foundational math/statistical skills with the ability to juggle facts, figures, and number crunching
  • Strong communication skills, with experience in creating and delivering presentations and executive summaries
  • Intermediate to advanced competency in statistics, probability, and linear algebra
  • Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skillsExperience/familiarity with version control (i.e.: Git, Bitbucket, etc.)
  • An interest or passion for marketing analytics
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Stats, Mathematics, CS, Information Technology, Economics, Engineering, etc.)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with statistical modeling and/or machine learning
  • Knowledge of full-funnel marketingKnowledge of search-specific advertising (Google Ads, SA360, etc.)
  • Experience with ad platform clean rooms (FBAA, AMC, ADH)
  • Familiarity with media-mix modeling and incrementality testing
  • Understanding of causal inference and Bayesian statistics
  • Experience with cloud computing (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
