Sword Health is looking for a Lead Data Analyst to guide and inspire a team of talented data analysts who use Looker as their primary tool for modeling, dashboarding, and analytics. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our data strategy, enabling data-driven decision-making, and delivering actionable insights that drive business outcomes.As a Lead Data Analyst, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to align on business objectives, define analytical approaches, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, insightful analyses. You will be hands-on in driving team performance, mentoring team members, and fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Your work will directly impact millions of lives by helping Sword Health grow as a truly data-centric organization.
What you'll be doing:
- Team Leadership and Development: - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data analysts, promoting growth and fostering a collaborative environment.- Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear goals, and support career progression for team members.- Lead and inspire teams across multiple business units, promoting best practices.
- Analysis and Insights: - Oversee the creation of impactful dashboards and analyses using Looker, ensuring they meet stakeholder needs.- Drive data modeling efforts to ensure consistent and reliable insights across teams.- Provide actionable recommendations based on data insights to support strategic decision-making.- Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and align deliverables with organizational goals.- Collaborate with C-level executives to integrate analytics into strategic initiatives.- Act as the main point of contact for analytics-related queries, providing clarity and support where needed.
- Process and Quality Improvement: - Ensure all team outputs adhere to high-quality standards, leveraging best practices in analytics and dashboard design.- Conduct rigorous reviews of team deliverables to ensure accuracy and clarity.- Advocate for the adoption of scalable, repeatable processes that improve productivity and insight delivery.
- Technical and Hands-On Work: - Stay actively involved in building and refining Looker models and dashboards, setting a high standard for quality and efficiency.- Champion best practices in data visualization, storytelling, and user engagement.- SQL experience so as to understand the underlying queries as to validate the data outputs.
- Strategic Impact: - Contribute to the long-term data and analytics strategy of the company, identifying areas for innovation and improvement.- Lead initiatives to enhance the use of Looker and other analytics tools across the organization.
What you need to have:
- 4+ years of experience in data analytics roles, with at least 1 year in a leadership position.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain learnings to both technical and non-technical partners
- A team player who’s able to partner with cross-functional leadership to quickly turn insights into actions
- Proficiency with data analytics tools such as Looker.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data modeling, analysis, and visualization.
- Proven ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
- Hands-on experience with SQL for querying and analysis.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, sprint planning, and project tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
- A strong focus on delivering high-quality, impactful results.
What we would love to see:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Business.
- Experience in using Looker, including LookML modeling and dashboard creation.
- Experience working with cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift).
- Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics.
- Experience implementing scalable analytics processes and methodologies.
- A passion for driving innovation and experimenting with new analytical approaches.
- Exposure to data science methodologies, including predictive modeling, machine learning, and statistical analysis.
