Guided by our core values-Simplicity, Safety, Transparency, Humility, and Growth-we are committed to advancing technology that increases safety and productivity while reducing environmental impact. Join us as we push the boundaries of autonomy.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Perception Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you'll design and deploy real-time perception systems using advanced sensors, including LiDAR, radar, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors. You'll develop C++ algorithms that enable autonomous vehicles to navigate complex environments and make intelligent decisions. Your work will be pivotal in delivering safe, efficient, and cutting-edge autonomous vehicle solutions to customers.

Your Impact

As a Perception Engineer, your work will power the decision-making systems of autonomous vehicles by ensuring that they accurately perceive and interpret their environments. You will play a vital role in the integration of sensor data, sensor fusion, and real-time object recognition algorithms, contributing directly to innovative, safe, and efficient autonomous missions that solve real-world challenges.

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate and deploy cutting-edge sensors, including LiDAR, radar, and cameras, for optimal autonomous vehicle performance.
  • Develop real-time algorithms in C++ to process sensor data and enable safe navigation and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with project managers to deploy and configure autonomous systems at customer sites, ensuring technical and operational success.
  • Design and implement sensor fusion, object tracking, and feature extraction algorithms.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize system performance during testing and field deployments.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a creative, technically skilled professional with a passion for sensor technologies and autonomous systems.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in C++ (C++11 or newer) for real-time applications.
  • Experience developing multithreaded embedded software in Linux.
  • Familiarity with sensor data processing, including LiDAR, radar, and cameras.
  • Strong understanding of mathematics (e.g., linear algebra, least-squares equations).
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python3 or MATLAB.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with ROS/ROS2, real-time sensor fusion, and GPU-based processing.
  • Knowledge of object detection, classification, and tracking algorithms.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols like UDP, CAN, and Serial.
  • Understanding of machine learning and AI, particularly in embedded systems.

At Autonomous Solutions, Inc. (ASI), we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace where all employees and applicants have equal opportunities. We prohibit discrimination and harassment of any kind based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other legally protected characteristic.
