Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Pricing and Analytics Data Scientist: Manager Level to support a strategic pricing and revenue analysis project. This contractor role will focus on conducting comprehensive data analysis, execute hypothesis lead analysis, determine statistical significance, and design and measure AB pricing tests. The goal of the analysis and testing will be to determine effective pricing frameworks and models.
The ideal candidate will have strong statistical background and ability to conduct pricing analysis and insights in Excel, Python, or other analysis tools. Retail experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed data analysis to uncover insights into revenue and pricing trends.
- Perform segmentation analysis to identify pricing trends by product and variations across different markets.
- Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests to assess the impact of pricing strategies on revenue, customer behavior, and profitability.
- Apply statistical methods to determine statistical significance of pricing actions
- Recommend and implement pricing experiments to enhance customer acquisition, retention, and profitability.
- Synthesize findings and provide data-driven recommendations to optimize the pricing model.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate data accuracy and ensure alignment with project goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in pricing analytics revenue management, data science, or experimentation roles.
- Strong knowledge of A/B testing methodologies, experimental design, and statistical analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to perform complex analyses, use advanced formulas, and create data visualizations (or ability to use other analysis and viz tools).
- Excellent analytical skills with experience in working with large datasets.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in pricing strategy development, advanced analytics, or consulting projects.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Retail Pricing or Analytics experience
- Create compelling and professional PowerPoint presentations to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
