LMI seeks a senior-level Digital Engineer to support a federal program management office in the National Capital Region (Washington, D.C.). Responsibilities

The senior-level Digital Engineer will provide specialized support in digital engineering activities to ensure the successful integration of digital transformation initiatives, including applying digital engineering best practices to plan, coordinate, and implement a digital engineering ecosystem for CBP use.

  • Assist the Office of Acquisition (OA) by providing domain subject matter expertise for various domains such as AC & DC power analyses, system reliability and sustainability, system architecture design and analysis, integrated systems architecture, digital engineering (DE), signal processing, cyber security, and artificial intelligence / machine learning
  • Provide specialized support in DE activities following DoD and industry guidance and best practices such as published in DoDI 5000.97.
  • Assist in the development of DE strategies and roadmaps.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement an innovative, robust, and efficient DE ecosystem for CBP use across the product lifecycle and capable of supporting/integrating an Artificial Intelligence-enabled capability for exploring future threats to CBP Operations that.
  • Identify, design, test, develop, and deliver innovative DE ecosystem use case concepts to improve customer productivity and data interoperability across the product lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities for innovating and pairing complimentary DE technologies in support of data interoperability and user productivity across the product lifecycle.
  • Develop DE ecosystem enterprise and systems architecture models using model-based engineering methodologies, languages, and tools to accurately document and maintain the system's authoritative source of truth.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a BS/BA degree and 18+ years of related experience or MS/MA degree and 10+ years of related experience.
  • Strong leadership and team-building strengths.
  • Experience in managing or working on large-scale DoD projects and risk management processes.
  • Experience with implementing DoD digital engineering guidance and best practices such as DoDI 5000.97.
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches, methodologies, and tools.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming and systems modeling languages such as SysML, UPDM, UAF, Python, Java, C++, etc.
  • Experience with Agile Development methods.
  • Excellent consulting, written, and verbal communication skills to support and manage customers and clients.
  • Self-directed, detail oriented, and able to coordinate and work with a dynamic team and multiple stakeholders.
  • Active or ability to pass U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation.

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

  • Knowledge of CBP enterprise, mission areas, acquisition programs and projects.
  • Comfortable using CI/CD processes and Git.
  • OCSMP Level 1 and/or 2 certification(s).
  • Familiarity across all phases of the DHS Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC).
  • Familiarity with DHS 102- 01- 001, Appendix B and the CBP Program Life Cycle Process Guide.

 

Clearance:

 

Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance abuse, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.

 

The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances.   

 

The salary range for this position is- $124,000-$221,000
