JOB ROLE SUMMARY

The Data Intelligence team simplifies insurance for our customers, drives the future data landscape with you and accelerates the transformation of Allianz into a data-driven service provide. 
To enhance our mission, we are seeking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Architect for our Data Intelligence department with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure for Data & AI to steer and support the usage, design, implementation, and optimization of the Allianz Cloud-Based Data & AI Platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure cloud infrastructure and Data & AI and will be responsible for supporting the platform users architecting scalable, secure, and high-performance Data & AI solutions that align with business objectives. This expert will also identify and qualify users demands for new platform capabilities and steer their implementation from design to operations. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of infrastructure and data systems, driving best practices, and ensuring cloud platforms are optimized for reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•Identify, define, and qualify new functional and non-functional capabilities on the data platform according to the business requirements and Allianz security, compliance, privacy and architecture standards
•Function as Platform Subject Matter Expert (SME) for potential and existing users of the platform,
•Act as product owner of the data platform providing product guidance to engineering teams in the design and development of new data platform capabilities.
•Ensure that capabilities are delivered with quality and according to the acceptance criteria.
•Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for data platform users or potential users (e.g., capabilities, use case architecture).
•Prepare and present briefings and materials for management meetings or public events.
•Represent the team in architecture and other technical discussions.
•Collaborate with stakeholders to co-create data solutions, optimizing business models by identifying opportunities for improved data usage and driving functional changes.
•Lead the evaluation and selection of suitable technologies and partners for implementing data analytics use cases, with a focus on proofs of concept and prototypes.
•Stay up to date with emerging trends in Data, Analytics, and AI/ML, and leverage open-source technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.

•External partners (e.g., Data provider, research institutes, Fintech, Insurtech, Startups & Solution partners)porting to the Head of Business Data Services.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
•Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science or related field with +5 years of experience in cloud data architecture and management
•Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures using Azure services like Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Machine Learning and Azure Data Lake.
•Experience with modern Data Warehouse architectures (eg. Lakehouse) in Azure toolstack and (eg. Azure Synapse Analytics, Fabric) and Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC)
•Leverage Azure Machine Learning and Azure AI services (e.g., Cognitive Services, Azure Bot Service) to integrate machine learning models and AI capabilities into data solutions for predictive analytics and automation.
•Ensure data security and compliance using Azure AD, Azure Key Vault, and Informatica’s data governance tools, focusing on data privacy and regulatory standards.
•Optimize resource usage, performance, and costs across both Azure services and IDMC, leveraging tools like Azure Cost Management and Azure Monitor.Proficiency, from an architecture point of view, in data integration, machine learning, and generative AI, with hands-on experience in Python, SQL and Spark/Scala/PySpark
•Skilled in ETL/ELT tools, advanced SQL, and working with container solutions like Docker and Kubernetes
•Expertise in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and experience with microservices architectures and APIs
•Proven experience in designing and managing cloud solutions on Azure, alongside knowledge of architecture frameworks like TOGAF or Zachman
•Strong understanding of emerging trends in big data/analytics, especially in open-source technologies
•Adept at working in fast-paced corporate environments, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
•Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to articulate complex technical solutions to senior management and business teams.
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities, with a proactive, customer-focused approach

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Previous experience with the internal Allianz Infrastructure and Allianz Technology teams
•Previous experience working as a Cloud Architect in an Allianz Group Function or OE
