Data Architect cum Data Modeller

Position Summary

The position is multi-faceted, having ownership of the Data Engineering team and its members and also the technical oversight of the data products being created. Having involvement with projects all over the world (APAC, Europe and beyond) means this job requires a high level of adaptability and versatility to be able to cope with the many demands coming into the team. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

• Proven experience in ETL design and development.
• Database design and modelling (multi-dimensional, 3NF, data vault).
• Experience with Agile methodology and tools (Jira, confluence).
• Establishing the development standards.
• Managing development activities.
• Recruitment an training of the developers.
• Fostering learning within the team.
• Identifying business opportunities.
• Understand and drive reporting/visualisation topics.
• Be a key point of contact for Data requirements in the region.

 

 

Key Requirements/Skills/Experiences

• 10+ years of total experience in Data
• 3+ years of experience in leading a team
• Worked in Agile Methodology
• Significant experience in the following categories :

1. Data Warehousing
2. ETL Development
3. Dimensional Modelling
4. Data Vault 2.0 
5. Data Science
6. Amazon Web Services

• Experience in working with subject matter and technical experts.
• High communication and interpersonal skills.
• Oral and written proficiency in English language
• Mentoring and coaching developers
• Stakeholders management
• Keeps skills up to date and transfer knowledge where possible
• Understanding of insurance business, ABS knowledge is desirable.
• Experience in use of containerized environments for development is desirable.
• Kafka knowledge (near real time data integration) is desirable.
