Tryg has launched its strategic goals for 2027, with ambitions goals for automation and customer satisfaction in claim handling. To support these goals, we are increasing the investment in data science. 

 

 

 

Key responsibilities: 

 

  • Support Data Science Lead in navigating the technological landscape 
  • Deploy, maintain and monitor machine learning models 
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists to improve model performance and scalability 
  • Implement and manage ML operations using our tech stack, including Python, uv, GitLab, Kubernetes, Docker and Prefect 
  • Provide technical guidance to Data Scientists to supplement their skills 
  • Ensure best practices from development to decommissioning of models 

 

As an experienced machine learning engineer you will take ownership of the way the team deploys, maintains and monitors models in close cooperation with data scientists and data engineers. You will be relied upon to bolster the Data Science Lead with evaluating and proposing technologies to enable or improve both real-time and batch machine learning tasks. Your contributions will shape how our claims department deploys and utilizes AI to solve business challenges.

 

 

 

Requirements: 

 

  • M.Sc. in computer science, data science, machine learning or similar 
  • Proven experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or similar role 
  • Strong proficiency in Python 
  • Hands-on experience with GitLab for code versioning 
  • Expertise in containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes and Docker 
  • Familiarity with Prefect for workflow orchestration 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders 

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • Knowledge of MLOps practices and tools 
  • Experience in the insurance industry or a related field 
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure 
  • Proficiency in SQL and data analysis. 
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch 
  • Strong innovation and collaboration skills

About Us: 

 

We are a team consisting of 13 data engineers and data scientists, supporting all business units in Norway with AI/ML-models, streaming architecture applications and system integrations. We have close collaboration with similar teams in Denmark and Sweden. Our Data Science department is at the forefront of delivering value to the business units.
