Offered Wage: $170,373.00/year

 

Duties: Analyzes and interprets data in line with business goals and delivers value by using data to answer questions and communicate results through impactful visualizations. Provides timely information to support senior leadership in decision-making through dashboards for a wide range of personnel in the organization. Provides direction to data technical teams concerning how to implement an enterprise-wide business intelligence (BI) tool. Presents large amounts of information in ways that are universally understandable or easy to interpret and spot patterns, trends, and correlations. Oversees visualization for data mining, presentation, and dashboard development. Conducts research for data issues and reports and translates business requirements into technical specifications.

 

Education & Experience Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience in performing end-to-end data analytics & designing data warehouse solutions, incl. testing, migration, administration, security management, and production support in the finance or insurance industry or, alternatively, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience in performing end-to-end data analytics & designing data warehouse solutions, incl. testing, migration, administration, security management, and production support in the finance or insurance industry. Specific skills/other requirements - Experience must include 3 years in all components of each of the following skills: 1) Creating complex dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) leveraging 2 or more of the following business intelligence (BI) tools: Tableau, Spotfire, Salesforce or Business Objects to create insights, trends, and alerts; 2) Designing and developing data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from Data Hub into TOAD for Oracle or similar SQL-based relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Dremio; 3) Gathering business requirements and translating them into technical specifications leveraging JIRA and Confluence, and creating and collaborating on deployment plans and managing design specification documents leveraging Git, Subversion (SVN), Asana, and Bitbucket; 4) Analyzing multiple data sources leveraging SQL Server, Dremio, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL to blend the data into creative dashboards; and, 5) Performing data mining to identify data issues, conduct in-depth statistical analysis of qualitative and quantitative data leveraging Python and R, and transforming and modifying data leveraging Tableau, TOAD, Crystal Reports, and Business Objects.

 

 

This is a remote position reporting to New York Life’s headquarters in New York, NY; applicants may work from a home office anywhere in the United States.

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
