WHAT TO EXPECT
JLR are currently looking for an experience Software Test Engineer with experience in automation testing to join their industry leading team based in Shannon for a 1 year FTC. The automotive industry is in the midst of a once in a generational revolution as it accelerates toward autonomous driving, connectivity and electrification. Join our team to design, develop and shape the future of our electrical and electronic systems; that’ll be your goal as you apply your technical expertise to help develop robust software in our vehicles. This includes everything from autonomous vehicles and advanced control systems to class-leading infotainment, cloud-connected features and integration of consumer electronic technologies, not to mention the opportunity to drive advanced prototype vehicles.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

- Responsible for the creation and execution of test plans, test cases, test automation, and identify automation opportunities.
- Experience in the Software Development Lifecycle, V-Model, AGILE and exposure in a range of validation and automated testing frameworks will be crucial in this role.
- Programming skills in a range of languages such as Python / C & C++ and proficient in problem solving and debugging.
- Contribution to the implementation of test frameworks to enable the test teams to verify functional and nonfunctional requirements.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum, continuous integration and deployment with exposure to GitLab, Jenkins, Jira.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Extensive experience in developing modular and scalable test tools and frameworks as well as proficient in coding with Python, C, C++.
- Exposure to testing processes, approaches and methodologies. (ISO29119)
- Exposure to a range of test toolchains, National Instruments, dSpace, Vector, Synopsys, Trace32.
- Knowledge of vehicle network communication protocols - CAN/Flexray/LIN/BroadRreach
- Knowledge of Gliwa, Lauterbach Trace32 or other profiling tools or approaches
