Job Overview
The Revenue Cycle Data Analyst will provide reporting/analytics and statistical expertise for development of accurate solutions based on business needs. The Analyst will assist in analysis of technical and professional accounts receivable through special data projects and reports for internal customers. The Analyst will also develop customized views from databases and collects data accordingly to support corporate decision making at the strategic, tactical and operations levels through comparison to standard benchmarking.
Responsibilities
- Work with databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other tools to optimize data efficiency.
- Understand insurance data to present and explain information in an accessible way.
- Delve into data to discover discrepancies and patterns, and plans, develops, and/or executes the necessary steps to recommend correction/improvement of data
- Perform queries of respective data and explain developing trends that may be of interest to the business unit or product manager
- Strong acumen regarding 3rd party insurance, billing/collections, and denials.
- Validate reports/analysis to ensure accuracy via comparison to internal and external benchmarks and use of peer review as appropriate
- Perform, monitor and manage other ad-hoc/ advance reporting/analytics functions as and when required
- Act as a data steward maintaining and ensuring data integrity; manage research concerning data anomalies, work with other departments to identify solution or workaround, and communicate outcomes and impacts to other departments as appropriate
- Review data provided by the business operator and manage execution of reporting/analysis, perform interpretations and conclusions, and prepare recommendations

Qualifications
Required:
- 5 years of patient financial services experience
- Experience with expected reimbursement and contract management
- Experience with 3rd party insurance, billing/collections and denials
- Experience in data analysis, data reporting and data validation
- High School Diploma/GED
Preferred:
- 2 years of experience in data analysis, data reporting and data validation
- Experience in Cerner or Epic
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
