 The Finance Solutions and Innovation (FSI) Team is focused on optimizing the execution, investments, strategy, application experience, project delivery, and governance between the corporate technology and business teams, primarily in support of enterprise Finance. The FSI team has extensive and broad enterprise data experience that is frequently engaged to support efforts outside of Finance.

Humana is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to help advance key initiatives for our Finance organization. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing changing priorities while playing a pivotal role in maturing our Innovation process & tools, driving the rollout of a business-driven Finance Data Management practice and collaborating with other Finance Business leaders, as needed, to document & maintain business strategy.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive Finance Data Strategy, aligned with industry best practice, with the goal of advancing AI readiness withing the Corporate Finance organization.

  • Establish a Finance Data Governance process, in partnership with IT and engaging multiple levels of Finance leadership, to ensure adherence to the Finance Data Strategy.

  • Partner with IT and Data Stewards to implement sound data management principles in alignment with industry best practice to ensure that Finance & Accounting data is actively managed as the business evolves.

  • Strong understanding of Business Architecture and its relationship with data management.

  • Engage with and support Enterprise Data Management and/or governance initiatives.

  • Engage with and support Finance AI initiatives to ensure necessary data is available to fuel future AI models.

  • Help to evolve our Finance Innovation process, which is the mechanism for reviewing funding requests and managing our annual Corporate Finance department IT investment budget (aka. ABO budget).

  • Maintain and enhance our custom-built Microsoft Power App that enables the Innovation process.

  • Work with Finance leaders to gather or help document their business strategies and to consolidate them for consumption on a new Finance Strategy SharePoint site.

  • Help to manage small Finance projects on an as-needed basis

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, information systems, computer science, business administration, or equivalent work experience may be considered.

  • Demonstrated experience as a self-started with the ability to work autonomously to run multiple initiatives at the same time.

  • Proven experience in implementing and/or running a business-driven data management practice, in partnership with IT, in a large organization.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing & tracking key metrics that accurately represent to the health & hygiene of relevant data within the data management practice.

  • Proven track record in building, deploying and maintaining Microsoft Power Apps, particularly with workflow capabilities.

  • Experience in process design work.

  • Demonstrated experience in negotiation and bringing multiple teams with competing goals & objectives to common understanding and agreeable path forward.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and drive results through collaboration and influence.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, OneNote and Teams.

  • Experience with low-code or no-code platforms such as Microsoft Power Apps.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree and/or professional certification(s) (e.g., CDMP, CPA, CFA, PMP).

  • Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations is a plus.

  • Proficiency in understanding Healthcare Finance-related data.

  • Experience in and the ability to articulate AI concepts such as Machine Learning, Generative AI, Predictive AI, etc.,

  • Ability to connect the dots between data and the success of AI implementations for leaders who aren’t well versed in data management and/or AI.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, Qlik, etc.) for creating data health & hygiene dashboards.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$89,000 - $121,400 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
