Overview

Responsible for working with internal and external business partners in gathering and documenting requirements, developing, deploying, and monitoring data quality controls deployed under  CNB's Data Management program and working with the appropriate data stewards to improve monitoring and remediation capabilities using computer software combined with data analysis techniques. This position requires knowledge of data quality concepts and operationalize those relevant to CNB through a combination of Enterprise Data Governance Platform capabilities and other.

 

Data Quality Management will rely on processes and computer software to effectively deliver value to the business in the form of tangible outcomes such as improved data quality scores and increased value of data assets, to the enterprise and customers. This position requires the ability to help identify data quality improvement opportunities and the root causes, analyze/develop functional requirements, and facilitate remediation efforts by providing data-driven designs, insights, and control validation. This position entails proficiency in collecting and analyzing data assets and their representation in the Enterprise Data Governance Platform capabilities to ensure best practices are followed, in particular as they pertain to metadata, Data Management Policies and Standards adherence, and Data Quality management.

 

In conjunction with the Data Governance Officer, the incumbent is proficient in configuration and operation of the Enterprise Data Governance Platform and supports data stewards across the organization in managing their data assets' quality levels and metadata (business term definitions, data dictionaries, lineage maps, and data quality control prototypes). Additionally, the analyst will be responsible for platform operation, reinforcement of data gathering, processing, and reporting needed to satisfy auditor and regulator requests when related to Data Management.

 

As a member of CNB's Data Management team, the analyst will be required to provide input and contribute to the scheduled policies and standards review to ensure they are kept current and relevant to the Bank's data ecosystem. Additionally, the analyst is required to actively contribute to the development and improvement of CNB's AAll- Employee Data Management mandatory training and other program adoption inhibitors within the area of expertise required for the job.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Hold regular meetings with platform and data users to identify and address DQ concerns and improvement opportunities.

  • Monitor DQ capabilities offered at CNB to identify issues and developing trends to prevent/address DQ control breaches.

  • Participate in the preparation and validation of DQ status reports delivered to subscribed stakeholders.

  • Detect and report DQ policy deviations and provide supporting information that can lead to root cause identification.

  • Collaborate with data users/owners on the development, testing, and maintenance of preventative and reactive DQ controls.

  • Contribute with requirements definition, execution planning, development, and testing of data quality dashboards.

  • Work with Enterprise Data Governance software vendor to report and address platform-related issues.

  • Understand and promote adherence to Data Management Policies and Standards.

  • Monitor assigned DQ dashboards, address persistent anomalies with designated data asset stakeholders.

  • Lead other data stewards across the enterprise in the management and up keeping of exceptional DQ levels.

  • Monitor regular data governance software configuration improvements to maximize value of DQ capability.

  • Acquire and maintain expert level knowledge of data governance software’s DQ capabilities and apply as needed.

  • Identify and propose process and technology changes leading to Data Management Program improvement.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in a leading role within technical work streams in the any of the following areas: IT, data analytics, data governance, data quality management.
  • Experience with enterprise-wide data-driven initiatives and data-related capabilities.

  • Experience with basic data manipulation tools and techniques (Excel, T-SQL, multi-dimensional data).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Understanding of the mortgage servicing/originations and deposits industry is desired.

  • Familiarity with Business Process Management and Project Control concepts (tools, techniques, best practices).

  • Proven track record with 3+ member cross-functional teams and hybrid workplace arrangements.

  • Effective communication skills suitable for dynamic, professional, respectful, and productive environments.

  • Ability to work efficiently and seamlessly within the technology and business domains.

  • Formal training in Project Management disciplines (Agile and Waterfall).

  • Work to tight deadlines, manage a steep learning curve and a challenging workload.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with changing priorities and time-bound work streams.

  • Accomplishes organizational goals by taking ownership in a fast-paced environment adopting a value/risk based approach.

  • Familiarity with on-premise and cloud-based data environments.

  • Experience creating graphical of data flows, process flows, and other types to support effective communications.

  • Strong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.

  • Good knowledge of applicable data privacy laws.

  • An innovative, creative approach to problem solving.

  • Adequate leadership and communication skills to work colleagues ranging from front-line to executives.

Education

  • Associates Degree in Information Services, Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Services, Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent.
