Position Summary
- Responsible for the maintenance and support of company Enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) tools including: Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE/OAS), Oracle Business Intelligence Applications (OBIA), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), and Incorta Analytics and Tableau in a 24x7 production environment on On-Prem and Cloud based Infrastructure.
- Serves as a liaison between the BI developers, business users, and Enterprise Infrastructure teams to develop and deploy BI solutions meeting business needs.
- Accountable for BI applications monitoring, performance tuning, capacity, and utilization, managing system stability, High Availability, as well as identifying, designing, and implementing solutions for identified improvements.
- Guides best practices and approaches to design and implement effective analytics solutions.
- Performs post-project reviews with the project team from IM&T and IT, identifying best practices and learning and implementing them in the project execution process to improve future project execution.
- Performs data analysis, produces data samples/prototypes, and produces ad-hoc reports.
- Obtains and analyzes data by accessing multiple sources, including Oracle and data warehouses to enable agile data analysis and data preparation for front-end BI implementation.
- Identifies and implements opportunities to utilize advanced data analytics, such as statistical analysis, forecasting, regression, etc., to add value to business processes.
- Develops a deep understanding of specific areas of the business and the key metrics that drive performance. Queries data to analyze, monitor, and investigate trends.
- Partners and collaborates with Business Analysts to provide input to project timelines, scope, and risks for Business Intelligence initiatives.
- Evaluates and plans activities to implement automation of manual data extracts and other manual activities.
- Utilizes LEAN and Kaizen concepts to identify and implement data-driven continuous improvement initiatives.
- Implements, maintains, and enhances ETL solutions fulfilling data quality, availability, data freshness, and performance requirements, working with the business analysts to understand the business requirements to be fulfilled by the data, and assessing requirements for completeness and accuracy.
- Develops methods for integrating different data sources so they work properly together, such as customizing standard source system/product databases to fit specific needs.
- Analyzes and interprets all complex data on the target system and analyzes the provides resolutions to all data issues and coordinates with analysts to validate all requirements.
- Creates and maintains technical documentation including specifications, data flows, data mapping, and data dictionaries. Keeps documentation up to date on any data flow changes.
- Maintains and implements robust data governance methodologies for master and transactional data as well as data quality framework management for end-to-end data quality.
- Performs tests and validates all data flows and prepares all ETL processes according to business requirements and incorporates all business requirements into all design specifications.
- Supports design and development of dimensional and normalized data models describing data elements and how they are used, following standard data modeling practices for a Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence platform.
- Writes and codes logical and physical database descriptions and specifies identifies of the database creating a data dictionary.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Must have 8 years of experience in positions performing business intelligence analysis.
Must have 3 years of experience performing the following:
- Developing and implementing successful project plans, ensuring adherence to deadlines and achieving proper project completion.
- Utilizing knowledge of the various services offered by OCI including computing, storage, networking, database, analytics, and machine learning.
- Utilizing understanding of OCI’s pricing models including pay-as-you-go, subscription, and reserved instances. Utilizing knowledge of cost optimization strategies and best practices for minimizing expenses while maximizing value. Utilizing knowledge of cloud cost management tools and platforms for tracking, analyzing, and optimizing cloud spending.
- Utilizing architected Oracle Cloud Data Lake solutions, leveraging Object Storage for scalable and durable data storage.
- Utilizing designed and implemented data processing pipelines using Oracle Cloud Data Flow, ensuring efficient extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of large-scale datasets.
- Developing ETL workflows with Oracle Data Integrator to integrate data from disparate sources, optimizing performance and data quality.
- Implementing data governance policies and establishing metadata management practices using Oracle Data Catalog.
- Utilizing knowledge of OCI Data Science, Python, and Spark as well as understanding of Data Visualization tool offered by Oracle Analytics Server.
- Utilizing knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure IAM (Identity and Access Management) policies for utilizing OCI Data Integration services and resources.
- Installation and Configuration of Oracle Business Intelligence Applications on the Linux platform.
- Utilizing hands-on experience in upgrading Oracle Business Intelligence Applications from lower version to latest version.
- Utilizing experience in upgrade to latest Oracle Business Intelligence Application version OBIA 11.1.1.10.x.
- Utilizing knowledge in Enterprise Resource Planning application in Financial, Procurement & Spend, Project, and Supply Chain modules.
- Utilizing hands-on experience in Oracle Business Intelligence Object level and data level security implementation
- Utilizing experience with SQL/PL SQL, with experience in performance tuning SQL queries through techniques such as portioning, indexing, and query optimization hints.
- Utilizing knowledge of creating forecast related reports by using Machine Learning algorithms in Oracle Analytics Server Data Visualization tool.
- Position may be eligible to work remotely but is based out of and reports to Scientific Games offices in Alpharetta, GA. Must be available to travel to Alpharetta, GA regularly for meetings and reviews with manager and project teams within 24-hours’ notice.
