Join CACI's Agile Digital Solutions Group as a Senior Data Engineer on NASA's Consolidated Applications and Platform Services (NCAPS) team! NCAPS is at the forefront of developing an Enterprise Data Platform (EDP), a cutting-edge solution designed to revolutionize how NASA data scientists and other stakeholders collaborate, share insights, and expedite their work with data. The Opportunity:

CACI is looking for an exceptional Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering and experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust pipelines. This role requires deep understanding of data architecture, data warehousing, ETL processes, and big data technologies. The data engineer will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless flow and integrity of data across the organization.

Responsibilities:

Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes. This includes integrating data from various sources, ensuring data quality and integrity, and optimizing data processing performance.

Design and implement data warehouse solutions and data lakes. You will be responsible for defining data models, optimizing data storage, and ensuring efficient data retrieval for analytical and operational purposes.  

Develop and maintain data infrastructure and tools. This includes building and managing data platforms, implementing data governance policies, and ensuring data security and compliance.

  

Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements. You will work closely with these teams to translate business needs into technical solutions and provide access to reliable and relevant data.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of our data architecture. You will play a key role in defining and evolving our data architecture to support the organization's growing data needs.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers. You will share your expertise and experience to help develop the skills and knowledge of other team members.

Write clear and concise technical documentation in Markdown. This includes documenting data pipelines, data models, and other technical solutions.

Participate in agile development processes. You will actively contribute to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other agile ceremonies.

Stay current with the latest data engineering technologies and trends. You will continuously learn and explore new tools and techniques to improve our data infrastructure and processes. 

Qualifications:

Required: 

Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years relevant experience

Expertise in the following:

Python, Apache Spark, Databricks, Apache Airflow, Data pipeline design, technical writing (markdown), Agile development principles

Insert program/sector/recruiter verbiage (1-3 bullet points)

Desired: 

Familiarity with:

Advana, Data architecture patterns, AWS

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$89,500-$188,000
