About the role
GrainCorp is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to join our Advanced Analytics and Artificial Intelligence team. This role is pivotal in leveraging data science to solve complex business problems and drive impactful decisions. You will work alongside a motivated team of data scientists and engineers to build and deploy machine learning models that deliver high-value insights across the organization. Responsibilities will include:
 

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand challenges and translate them into data-driven solutions
• Develop, build, and deploy machine learning models
• Utilize Apache Spark and Azure Cloud for large-scale data processing and model deployment
• Write efficient and maintainable Python code for data manipulation and model development
• Communicate findings and technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
   

About your experience
Candidates will have a strong analytical foundation and a passion for leveraging data science to solve business challenges. Candidates will also display:  

• Communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders
• Data analysis skills, capable of interpreting data and generating actionable insights
• Hands-on experience in model build and deployment, particularly in machine learning
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with Apache Spark and Azure Cloud platform
• Experience with Power BI for data visualization
• Degree qualified in STEM field
