Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

  • You will be part of the Observability and Automation Team and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines that feed our insightful visualization dashboards to address business requirements, improve operational efficiency, processes, customer experience, monetization and present complex data in an easy-to-understand way that helps stakeholders to grasp important trends and insights quickly.
  • He /She focuses on transforming raw data into actionable insights that empower our data scientists and business analysts to interpret and make data accessible to meet business requirements.
  • He/She shall be the subject matter expert in data engineering and data pipeline with adoption of best practices and innovations.
  • The individual will work closely with different stakeholders to support the project implementation and new datasets on cloud.
  • He /She shall perform use case analysis, feasibility, implementation along with visualization. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines for efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading from various sources.
  • Focuses on collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing, and visualizing large, complex sets of data to turn information into insights accessible through multiple platforms.
  • Develop and maintain tools and scripts utilizing Python, SQL, R Programming, Influx QL, Grafana QL and cloud technologies for efficient data extraction, transformation and loading from various sources.
  • Implement data quality checks and processes to ensure clean and accurate data for analysis.
  • Ensure, monitor, and enhance data quality, reliability, and efficiency, and the backup of data and its easy retrieval in case of system failure.
  • Identify and implement internal process improvements, optimize data delivery, and automate manual processes. 
  • Work with analytical tools to leverage the data pipeline, providing actionable insights into key business metrics, such as operational efficiency and customer acquisition.
  • Interpret trends and patterns in the datasets.
  • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to enhance data models, fostering data-driven decision-making.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, to define data integration strategies.
  • Prepare and maintain proper documentations of data pipeline design and processes, operation procedures, etc.
  • Define data assets and design data integrations and quality frameworks.
  • Write tests, contribute to documentation, and troubleshoot data-related issues.
  • Evaluate tools for data lineage and contribute to long-term data platform architecture.
  • Be an advocate for best practices and continued learning, keeping track of industry standards and technological advances that can improve the framework structure and design.
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques.
  • Designing and building machine learning models.
  • Optimizing models for performance and scalability.
  • Stay ahead of the latest trend and technologies to improve continuously.
  • Participation in various automation projects within the Autonomous Operation team.
     

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys data analysis and optimizing data models.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • Certification(s) in cloud technology platform (such as cloud architecture, container platform, systems and/or network virtualization)
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java/Scala, R-Programming.
  • 3+ years of SQL experience (No-SQL experience is a plus).
  • 3+ years of experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling.
  • Passionate about working with large data sets, data models and interpreting data patterns.
  • Possess keenness for understanding business processes and resolving challenges with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  • Knowledge of best operations practices for high availability services.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Process-oriented with excellent documentation skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Knowledge of telco networks such as mobile and fixed networks will be an added advantage.
  • Data engineering certifications like IBM Certified Data Engineer, Google's Certified Professional or equivalent will be an added advantage.
