Job Description

NielsenIQ is looking for a Principal Data Analyst (QA) to join our Financial Services Technology team. 

 At NielsenIQ, the Financial Services team uses alternative datasets to help global public equity investors (hedge funds, mutual funds, pension funds) make better investment decisions. We work with some of the largest hedge funds in the world. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be at the cutting edge of the alternative data space where you will help maintain and improve our data infrastructure, which enables us to develop market research products and delivery data to our customers. In this role, you would also get the opportunity to work with world-class big data and cloud services, such as: AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, DBT, Airflow, and Looker. Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies for data products, including data feeds, reports, and dashboards. 
  • Use business intelligence/visualization tools to identify, investigate, and resolve anomalies within our data products. 
  • Conduct daily and weekly data quality checks to ensure data integrity. 
  • Oversee and support testing and quality activities within an Agile environment, including application testing and UAT. 
  • Review functional specifications to create detailed test procedures and plans. 
  • Develop and maintain test scripts for end-to-end quality management. 
  • Recruit, lead, and mentor a team of QA engineers, providing guidance, training, and support. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and high-quality deliverables. 

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in testing, with a strong background in testing data (e.g. reports, dashboards, data feeds, etc.). 
  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring QA teams. 
  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries and scripting languages such as Python. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities. 
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional testing or development experience.
